Happy birthday to the older sister of Lev Haiba!
!TW!: Death-poison-war- complicated angst no comfort whatsoever. Also, Lev is older in this AU, and for those who are confused why he is not taking the crown, it would be because he became a high figure at risk 24/7 so he handed the crown to his sister. all of this will be original. DO NOT COPY WRITE/ REPOST. (only read this if you want nightmares and/or crying yourself to sleep, because there are no happy endings here.)
(A/N-so I have zero motivation and im not halfway since I have writer's block so from now on The Throne of demise is gonna be posted in parts. I will post the schedule to the deadlines of each chapter for both this and Meet Me At The Coffee Shop if you would like to see my other works regarding other Fandoms; My Tumblr user is Itzzrain & my Requesting sheet will be posted shortly.)
Every story starts happily and ends happily, or at least that's what we are told. Not all of us get happy endings. Like the empire of Demise is not so happy. The reason is the person that sits on the throne dies or has fallen ill. This little prince didn't know that. So he sat on the throne; distraction came all around the palace. No one knows why it happens, no one but Lady Akane of the Yamamoto family. So here is the story: it all started with a princess that was next in line to the throne of Demise.
This curse started years ago on April 1st. When The crown princess Alisa turned 18 in 5 days, she would become Queen. *Knocks 3 times* ¨Father? May I come in?¨ The air felt tense. *Thump* It sounded like something cumbersome fell. ¨Father? Are you alright?¨ Her question was once again met with silence. Something wasn't right. *Shater* the sound of glass breaking filled her ears. She quickly opened the door and ran in.¨Father! Father, are you alright?¨ She said as she ran to the king that was lying on the floor.¨Father? Father, wake up! Guards! Father, please…. Wake up…¨ five guards ran in. ¨Your majesty, Call the royal doctor.¨ Spoke the head guard. The princess ran out of her father's office. And she didn't stop. Until she got to her balcony. She let her tears flow.
¨I Warned you. But you didn't listen. You thought it was an empty threat.¨ she turned to see HIM the same hooded figure she saw 3 years ago. ¨W-what do you mean..? I´ve never *hic*seen you in my life…¨ She was speaking through her tears. What is he talking about? Warned me? ¨I told you to give up the crown. But the dumb little princess didn't listen. *Chuckles*Wait no I apologize. It's Little dumb Queen Now. right?¨ He was stepping closer to her, as she walked backward till her back hit the railing. He stopped right In front of her with either hand on her side. Pinning her to the railing. He leaned closer to her ear and whispered.¨Now All you have is your Brother…I don't think he'll stay for long¨ No! No! NO! NO! I Can't let you hurt Lev.¨ Bye-Bye your majesty¨ the hooded figure pushed her off the balcony. He took his hood off only to reveal him. Her Dead EX-Lover. Tetsurō Kuroo.
¨Ugh…my head…¨ she stirred awake from her deep slumber. *Whispers* She tried to call her lady-in-waiting but she couldn't. Why can't I move?¨When will she wake up?¨ spoke to the head maid ¨I´am not sure, but either way, she won't be queen-¨ the head maid cut him off before he could finish speaking.¨ won't be queen why? Is she not going to wake up.O-or is she suffering from any illnesses? Please sir-Please find a cure for her majesty!¨ she had begun to panic.
What if she doesn't wake up? What will happen to the prince? He can't take the crown…He-he is just a kid!¨she will wake up miss, it will just take time.¨
~TIMESKIP~
The prince had just returned from his trip—unknowing of anything that had happened. I'm finally back from my trip!! I can't wait to tell you what happened on the ship!! I also want to show her my gift since her coronation is coming up. I wonder what she did when I was gone.¨Your majesty!¨ the head maid ran towards him.¨I need to speak to you…¨ her head was held low and her eyes were full of sadness. His face scrunched up with worry.¨Go on Lilian, What is it?¨ she couldn't bring herself to say it.¨Fallow me to her majesty¨ she said as she turned towards the entry door of the palace. As they walked through the castle he noticed all the maids, guards, and even the heartless butler looked sad. She stopped in front of his sister's room. It had two guards as usual.¨ My sister's chambers, what did you have to show me?¨ he asked with a questioning look on his face.
¨No your highness…i-it's her majesty…¨ the guards opened up the room to reveal Alisa lying there peacefully. Her hair was laid all around, her hands lay on her stomach. Roses all around; she looked relaxed. ¨What happened..?¨ his head turned to Lilian. ¨She fell off the balcony, right after his majesty the king got assassinated…¨
The prince didn't know what to do. His body froze up. The head maid tried speaking but her voice along with other things. Everything else was a blur. He began to shake, as he fell to the ground. How could the guards let someone hurt my sister? Why was I not informed right away? He thought, not noticing he was crying while trying to get a grip. Everything slowly went black as he passed out from all the shockwaves that went through his body.
It’s been 2 hours since he passed out. He felt numb as if he was repeatedly hitting his body against something. He opened his eyes to see his ceiling. He could not tell how long it's been since he passed out, however, he could tell that it was about to be dinner considering it was sundown. He felt a sharp pain in his chest. It was probably the aftershock of what happened earlier. ¨your finally awake your majesty…¨ said the sinister voice from behind him. That voice was oddly familiar…as if he spoke to them before.
He couldn't move. As if his body was under a spell. ¨There is only one way for you to save the Queen….if you wish to save her meet me at the blue lake¨ the sinister voice spoke.¨Be there by April 4th, if you are there later I won't help¨ he heard the sound of magic shifting. He knew he had to speak to the royal magician about this since he is the only person that can help.
He headed to his office.” Lillian!” the door slowly opened, as she stepped in.” Yes, my king? How may I help you?” she asked bowing to him. It never crossed his mind that Lillian sounded frightened as she spoke. It's unusual she only sounded like that while speaking to the former king. “Sammon sir Kenma to the palace right now.” there has to be a way to find HIM.

~Bonus Chapter #1 [The UNO Game]~
“UNO!” Yaku put down his second to last card. He was about to win this round. His boyfriend studied the many cards that his giant hands held. He had amassed 26 cards during this game and hadn’t been able to get rid of them.
“Yaku-san,” Lev sighed.
Yaku froze. Why the heck is he using my surname? He’s been calling me ‘Mori’ this whole time.
Lev put down the ‘shuffle hands’ card, “I’m sorry.”
“LEV!” Yaku angrily jumped onto the grey-haired titan. “That’s it! You know what’s gonna happen now!”
“Mori! I’m sor-,” Lev stopped, “Haha! Mori, stop! Not the tickles!”
Yaku didn’t let go as he continued to playfully torture his partner, “This is what you get for doing that!” Lev embraced him and they both rolled to the side on the floor.
“Ha! I win,” Lev said as he pinned down the smaller boy.
Yaku kicked Lev’s stomach and rolled on top of him instead, “Nuh uh, I’m the winner!”
“Ow, baby. That hurt,” Lev clutched his stomach in pain.
“Baby?” Yaku stuttered. He didn’t have anything against pet names, but Lev had never used any nor had he. At least, he doesn’t think that ‘titan’ and ‘behemoth’ count as pet names. Now that Lev had called him that, his heart fluttered.
“Do you not like it?”
“No, no, I like it.”
“Really? Then can I call you that whenever?” Lev asked, once again giving Yaku the ‘kitty’ eyes.
“I- Sure why not,” Yaku ruffled his boyfriend’s soft and silky hair. “Your hair is fluffy. Hey, what were we doing before this?”
Lev put his arms around Yaku and pulled him closer, “UNO, but we can watch Mulan now. If you want to, that is. I can bring the popcorn from the kitchen.”
“How about I bring the popcorn and you set up the movie,” Yaku looked at the cards strewn on the floor, “and pick up that mess too.”
Lev chuckled, “Sure.” He let go of Yaku, who went downstairs to the kitchen in search of caramel popcorn.
It should be around here somewhere. Yaku searched the lower cabinets. Don’t tell me that they’re up there. He looked around and saw a step-ladder that he could use. He unfolded it and stepped onto the platform. Here they are. Yaku grabbed the caramel popcorn and a bowl to pour the popcorn in.
“Hey Lev, how come the popcorn was in one of the higher cabinets this time? And since when does your family need a step-ladder?” The libero asked as he entered the room.
“Mori, you found the popcorn faster than I thought,” Lev said as he finished putting up some fairy lights.
“Faster than you thought? What are you up to this time? And what’s with the fairy lights?” Yaku looked and saw that there were also pillows and blankets on the floor in front of the TV.
“I wanted to do something romantic I guess,” Lev shrugged as he scratched his back.
Yaku sighed, “Lev, we’re watching Mulan.” Lev pouted. “But you did go through the trouble of setting this up. Come on you giant kitten, let’s go watch that movie.”
“Alright!”

“Look at them Mom! Aren’t they so cute together?” Alisa said about her sleeping brother and his boyfriend. Yaku was seated in Lev’s lap, whose arms were around the smaller boy. The room was decorated with fairy lights and there was a nest of pillows and blankets on the floor where they sat. Next to the sleeping couple was an empty bowl of caramel popcorn.
“Yes they are indeed very cute together,” her mother chipped. “I’m glad that Lev found someone to love.” She creeped softly into the room and picked up the bowl.
“I’m surprised Alisa is still single,” Alisa’s father cackled.
“Dad!”
“I’m joking Honey,” he smiled. The three closed the door to Lev’s room and walked away. Each retired to their rooms. Alisa to her’s and her parents to their shared bedroom.
Lev awoke at the sound of his door closing. He looked down at Yaku, who was sleeping peacefully. Like a baby almost. Lev thought. He made sure not to move around too much as he repositioned both of them into a more comfortable position.
“Good night Mori,” he pressed a light kiss to Yaku’s forehead before drifting off to sleep once more.
“Good night Lev,” Yaku said as he snuggled closer to Lev.

~Bonus Chapter #2 [‘Baby’]~
“Lev come here you titan!” Kuroo called.
“Coming!” The tall half-Russian said. He jogged over to the captain. “What is it, Kuroo-san?”
“What do you call a newborn child?” The captain said, a mischievous grin plastered on his face.
A look of confusion spread across Lev’s face, “Um, baby?”
“Yes, Lev?” Yaku asked as he walked by with a towel. “Wait.”
“Bahahahaha!” there went Kuroo’s hyena cackle again, “It worked! Yamamoto, it worked!” He clutched his stomach as he doubled over in pain from laughing, and from the nice kick that Yaku gave him.
“All right! Inuoka, you owe me a yakisoba bun!” Yamamoto cheered.
“Fukunaga, did you get that?” Kuroo asked in between hiccups.
“Yep,” Fukunaga answered.
“Kuro, you’re mean,” Kenma said.
Yaku shook his head, “Damn, these idiots. Let’s finish up here so that we can go home Lev. Lev?” Lev was nowhere to be seen. Where did he go? “Lev! Stop hiding!” Yaku called out as he sprinted out of the gym. “Lev?”
“Yaku-san?” Lev looked at him. He had seated himself at the roots of the same tree he had gotten stuck in.
“We’re alone, you can call me ‘Mori’.”
“Sorry Mori, I just embarrassed both you and myself. I should have noticed what he was trying to do,” Lev sighed.
“Nonsense, even I wouldn’t have noticed it,” Yaku chuckled and sat next to Lev. “Stop being sad, you idiot. Next time we’ll get our revenge on Kuroo.”
“How?”
“Well, I feel bad for bringing Kenma into this, but those two are dating you know.”
“Oh, right! I heard Kuroo-san calling Kenma-san ‘Kitten’ the other day,” Lev said excitedly.
“Really? Then I know what we’re going to do.” Yaku grinned, “But that’ll be another day. Let's get changed now.”
“Do you think that we could get Fukunaga-san to film it?”
“Maybe, it’d be fun,” Yaku replied. The two walked back towards the gym together. They were met with more teasing from Kuroo and Yamamoto, but it didn’t matter. First on the list was Kuroo and second was Yamamoto. Poor Kenma and Fukunaga have been unknowingly dragged into a war by their boyfriends.
