Author's Note

Thank you for picking up Haikyū!! volume 21! This sketch is a panel from the storyboard I did for chapter 189, which appears in this volume. For some reason I have a fondness for this particular sketch, so I tossed it in as a picture here. There's just a certain flavor to storyboard sketches that doesn't make it into the finished drawings, and I've always thought it's kind of a waste.

Synopsis

The fifth set of the Miyagi Prefecture qualifier round finals continues. With Tsukishima out of the game, Karasuno’s defense starts to fall apart. However, the team’s determined to keep it together. With both opponents physically and mentally exhausted, which one will prevail and move on to nationals?

Special edition

In Japan, a special edition of this volume was released that included the OVA VS Failing Grades on DVD.
