Akitomo is the son of Asa Hoshiumi and the older brother of Kōrai Hoshiumi.

Background[]
Plot[]
During his debut appearance, Akitomo is first seen taunting Kōrai for his shorter height and not being able to reach a ball Akitomo is holding out of his reach. He then scares Kōrai by claiming he was fortunate enough to be born a human since smaller animals in the wild would not survive.
When his brother began the path to playing volleyball, Akitomo questioned if Kōrai could even get his hands over the top of the net. Kōrai defends himself by stating that a running approach would make a big difference. He demonstrates this by proving he can jump high enough to touch the ceiling light, but both boys were scolded when the light possibly broke.
When he reached fifth grade, Akitomo seemed to gain more attention and popularity thanks to his height, as many students mistook him for a middle schooler. One day, the basketball club and volleyball club were in the same gym when Akitomo requested the chance to spike a volleyball. Although Kōrai claimed spiking was harder than it looked, Akitomo was able to spike the ball on his first try. He boasted that spiking was easy to do and was right away asked by the volleyball club to join the team.
Statistics[]
He appears to be naturally talented in sports, as he was seen spiking a volleyball on his first attempt.
Relationships[]

- Kōrai Hoshiumi: When they were younger, Akitomo would often make fun of Kōrai for being so short. Although he often picks on Kōrai, the two appear to have a natural sibling relationship.
Trivia[]
- According to his mother on the chapter bonus page, he and Kōrai were given their first names so they would be as "glittery" as their last name.
