Set 2[]

Shortly after the Karasuno vs Wakunan match, the score shows 4-3, Aoba Johsai's favor was shown. Soon after, Moniwa, Kamasaki, and Sasaya show up to watch and see that Aoba Johsai is leading 8-6. Sasaya comments that they shouldn't worry as Date Tech could've possibly taken the first set, but Daichi replies that Aoba Johsai won the first set. On the court, Hanamaki scores a feint against Aone and Onagawa. Hanamaki serves and Obara receives it, but the formation is shaky. Koganegawa then sends a high set to Futakuchi, but he's nervous about hitting, as he's not good with high sets. He accidently spikes into the net, giving Aoba Johsai a point. He apologizes to his team, and Koganegawa tells his Captain not to worry. Futakuchi then asks Kogane to not send the ball too high, but also to not send it too low.

Hanamaki drives his next serve into the net, earning Date Tech a point. In the stands, Asahi assumes that Koganegawa is a first-year, as he's never been seen before. Moniwa then comments Koganegawa is Date Tech's new weapon, "The Giant Setter". Koganegawa gets a one-touch on Iwaizumi's spike. He then sets a quick to Aone, but once again sends the ball too high, and he misses it. Oiwake then catches the ball. Koganegawa bursts into tears as he apologizes for his mistakes, saying he'll run around the entire building, while Futakuchi says to focus on his setting instead. Moniwa then tries to back him up, saying that Kogane is still developing as a setter, while Daichi says it's perfectly normal for mistakes to happen. Futakuchi reflects on when he was a pain with his upperclassmen sometimes, and now he knows how it feels.

Matsukawa serves and Onagawa receive it. Koganegawa attempts a setter dump, but Hanamaki notices it and is able to pick it up easily. Iwaizumi spikes and Sakunami manages to pick it up. Obara passes the ball to Futakuchi, who spikes, but Kindaichi gets a hand on it. Oikawa picks up the ball, and Hanamaki sets to him, surprising Kageyama. Aone and Futakuchi are ready to block. Oikawa notices an opening and attempts to hit across the court. However, Kogane jumps at the last second and blocks him, shocking the third-year, and also knocking down Futakuchi in the process, who scolds the first-year for going too hard. Aone, however, says it was his fault and to not blame Koganegawa. Moniwa then renames Kogane "The New Iron Wall".

Koganegawa attempts another dump, but Watari receives it. Kindaichi then scores a quick. Futakuchi then scolds him once again for being too obvious, while Koganegawa tells him that he thinks setter dumps look really awesome. Futakuchi then says he doesn't have to dink it each time. The score is 16-18, and Oikawa is up to serve. He scores an ace, and gains Seijoh another 3-point lead. His next serve is picked up by Futakuchi, but it becomes Aoba Johsai's chance ball. Sakunami flashes back to when Oiwake asked him to guide Koganegawa on the court by making sure to receive as many hits as he can. In present day, he picks up Kindaichi's spike and sends it high above the net. Koganegawa is able to reach it. He sets the ball by placing it as Aone's point of impact, and he scores a quick untouched, surprising Karasuno, who admires the setter's skills.

Both teams continue scoring. The score reaches 23-20. Oikawa gets the ball and performs a setter dump, scoring. Aoba Johsai now has match point 24-20. Hanamaki serves and Onagawa picks it up. Sakunami passes to Futakuchi who scores. Onagawa serves and Hanamaki receives it, but it's short. Oikawa sets to Iwaizumi. Aone gets a one-touch on his spike, and Onagawa passes the ball to Koganegawa. He thinks back to what Futakuchi said about not dinking it, and says to just smack it down. Koganegawa does so and scores. The score is now 24-22, with Aoba Johsai still at match point. Iwaizumi then confronts Oikawa and tells him to let him take the next point. Mizoguchi notices that Oikawa sent the ball away from the net to avoid the blockers, and that Iwaizumi didn't seem to take it too kindly. Hanamaki receives Onagawa's next serve. Matsukawa spikes a quick, and Sakunami picks it up. However, it's going back to Seijoh's side. Matsukawa attempts a direct, but Koganegawa surprises him by jumping up and setting the ball to Aone. He spikes, but Watari receives it. Oikawa sets to Iwaizumi. Date Tech's block is ready. Koganegawa remembers how he is basically a "baby" as a setter, but he still possesses great height and declares that he will stop Iwaizumi. However, Iwaizumi comments that experience isn't something you can fake. He then spikes through Koganegawa's arms, shocking everyone.

Aoba Johsai wins 25-22 and wins the match. Karasuno now has to face Aoba Johsai in order to advance to the Finals.

Aftermath[]

Date Tech's third-years inform their team that they still have lots to improve on. Futakuchi then asks his upperclassmen to practice with them, as they wouldn't be there if they didn't have free time. Koganegawa then declares that he will get better and do the Iron Wall name proud. Aone then tells the first-year that tall players aren't always the hardest ones to stop.

He then walks past Hinata and Karasuno's first-years, declaring to himself that he will face Hinata another day and will stop him.
