Aoba Johsai vs Shiratorizawa was a match held between the two schools that took place during the Interhigh Preliminary finals. Despite all attempts, Aoba Johsai's blockers were unable to stop Ushijima, and Shiratorizawa took the match in straight sets.

In the manga, Shiratorizawa is at match point, 24-22. Oikawa and Kindaichi perform a quick and score. Oikawa then serves and Yamagata receives it, but the formation is broken. Despite this, Shirabu still passes to Ushijima, who manages to spike right through a three-man block from Aoba Johsai, and scores the final point, and Shiratorizawa takes the match in straight sets.
Aftermath[]
Aoba Johsai is devastated by the loss, as they practiced so much and gave their all, but were still unable to stop Ushijima.
With the win, Shiratorizawa places first in Miyagi and advances to the Interhigh National Tournament.
Despite their loss, Aoba Johsai's third-years chose to stay on the team for a chance to get revenge in the Spring Qualifiers.
