"Back Together" (Japanese:
Overview[]
The oddball combination reunites after five days away at their respective training camps. Once the whole team gathers, the Karasuno members show off their fruits of labor after a week of intensive training. Later, Hinata questions Kageyama about the possibility of jumping higher.
Plot[]
The oddball combination begins their usual race immediately after reuniting. Kageyama asks Hinata what he has been doing the past five days and is surprised to hear Hinata's reply of "ball boy." With the club room door locked, they start passing a ball back and forth while sharing their experiences at their training camps. Kageyama mentions Hoshiumi and how much better he is than Hinata before Tanaka arrives with the key. As they head up to the club room, Kageyama tells Hinata that he can jump even higher. Soon, the other Karasuno members arrive for practice.
Once practice begins, Yachi explains to those away that the team have been focusing on improving the precision of their serves. Asahi and Tanaka shows off their upgraded jump serves while Kinoshita and Yamaguchi do the same with jump floaters. When Kageyama goes to serve, he is shock to see Hinata move to the perfect position to receive the ball. Although Hinata gets knocked back, his teammates have picked up on his improvements.
After practice, Hinata goes up to Kageyama and ask about his previous statement of jumping higher. Kageyama explains that Hinata's jump is very light, but the most impactful jump will make a distinct sound when taking off from the ground.
