"Catching Up" (Japanese: 背中 (せばか) Senaka) is the sixty-fifth chapter of the Haikyū!! series, written and illustrated by Haruichi Furudate. It was published in the 29th issue of Weekly Shōnen Jump’s 2013 series.

Overview Edit

As the match advances to its end, Aobajohsai is gradually gaining points while Karasuno is barely catching up. Both sides are refusing to give up and not even letting the ball hit the floor. Intending to extend their reach at Seijoh's back, Karasuno fights to the fullest.

Plot Edit

Now that Aobajohsai is at twenty points, Daichi feels his concentration is at the best it's been the whole game and is able to clearly see Hanamaki attempt a feint shot that he saves.

Ukai notices how the Karasuno players seem to be scoring less and it may be due to their exhaustion setting in. Kunimi makes a receive and his condition does not go unnoticed by Kageyama. Tanaka sends a spike out of bounds and Seijoh is now three points ahead in the score. Ukai instructs Hinata to use the wide broad attack as much as possible.

The gap in the score is slowly starting to lessen. Kageyama saves Matsukawa's spike and Nishinoya sends the last hit to Tanaka. Oikawa and Matsukawa succeed in blocking the second year but he is surprises everyone by using his foot to keep the ball alive. Hinata dives to receive and gets the ball over to score, though he slightly injured his face by doing so. Now that Karasuno is only a point behind, Kageyama is next to serve. Kunimi receives the ball and Oikawa tries to score but Daichi makes the save. Each side is not willing to lose this game when Seijoh eventually reaches set and match point.

Karasuno becomes incredibly nervous until Nishinoya encourages everyone not to give up and keep pushing forward. Asahi scores and Tanaka is next to serve. Tanaka feels pressured being the one to serve, knowing that if he ruins this chance it'll mean the end of the game or that Seijoh will receive and counter. Watari receives but Tanaka is able to prevent them from scoring by receiving Kindaichi's spike with his shoulder.

Seeing the ball will may go over the net, Oikawa attempts to slam the ball down until Kageyama appears and is able to do a one handed set to Hinata who scores.
