"Chapter 10" is the tenth chapter of the Let's! Haikyū!? series, written and illustrated by Retsu.

Overview[]

The practice match between Karasuno and Aoba Johsai continues. Oikawa finally arrives.

Plot[]

In order to improve his mood after getting hit by Hinata's serve, Kageyama has the Vice-Principal battle against his lion, Tobio Lionel, in a gladiator style combat.

Operating Normally: Tanaka calls out Hinata on his poor play and Hinata confesses that he was worried about being subbed out if he couldn't perform his serve properly. Tanaka is understanding of Hinata's worries and states that he had shaved his hair off in order to compensate for certain things. He allows Hinata to rub his head as long as he calls him Scrapey-Senpai and manages to restore Hinata back to peak condition.

Bad Influence: With Hinata back to normal and everyone now celebrating by rubbing Tanaka's head, Kindaichi finds himself sharing in the wing spikers annoyance when Kunimi starts rubbing his head.

He Threw Up A Lot On The Bus: Tsukishima starts mocking Hinata and holding him back from getting any water. This proves to be detrimental as Hinata starts to dry out and collapse before Tsukishima and Yamaguchi.

Precise Toss Treatment: Tsukishima remarks how Kageyama's tosses are so precise. They soon spot the Vice-Principal standing a few feet away while complaining how his back is hurting. Kageyama tosses a ball into his back and instantly cures his ailing back. Seeing the older man healed, Kageyama offers to heal Tsukishima's eyesight but the middle blockers backs away from the offer.

Interesting Team: Irihata studies the Karasuno team outside of the combo play made by Kageyama and Hinata. He points out how Tanaka is someone who continually exposes himself, Tsukishima is a blocker who lacks proper eyesight, Daichi plays as he continues to treat his dry skin, and seems to miss Ennoshita who is now surrounded by Kageyama's animals. As he calls them an interesting team, Irihata doesn't notice that he is pinching Takeda's cheeks.

The Great King: Irihata welcomes back Oikawa and asks how his crown is. Oikawa answers that his crown has been perfected although it is rather large in size. As he states he wants to frighten Kageyama, Oikawa's balance is thrown off by his crown which causes him to run into Iwaizumi.

'The Great' King: With Oikawa switching back to his normal crown and Iwaizumi destroying the larger one, Hinata hears Kageyama mention how he had seen a king like Oikawa before. This leads Hinata to believe that Oikawa is the mentor of Kageyama and thus labels him as The Great King. Oikawa's own animal companions are revealed to be a black stallion named Tōru Emperor, a giant squid named Tōru Kraken, and three giant Isopods named Tōru's 1, 2, and 3. Oikawa attempts to get his animals to attack Kageyama's but the squid attacks Kindaichi and the isopods attack Iwaizumi.
