"Chapter 198" is the one-hundred ninety-eighth chapter of the Let's! Haikyū!? series, written and illustrated by Retsu.
Overview[]
Plot[]
Reverse: Osamu and Atsumu perform a reverse version of their new quick attack. The attack succeeds and the two are given great praise from the announcers. However, Aran notices how the Miya's personalities also seem to have been affected as Atsumu now seems to be the one obsessed by food and Osamu is now acting like a superior setter who cannot stand scrubs who can't hit his sets.
Pitons: Aran spikes past Daichi only for Hinata to make the miraculous receive. A narration speaks of how this moment can feel similar to a mountain climber finding that extra boost in the form of a piton. Yaku breaks the narration to proudly boast how the mountain climbing tool is the item used for this example and brags to Kuroo about how there is nothing in the sea that can compare to this. Kuroo tries to defend the ocean by claiming that a buoy could be used but this only proceeds to make Yaku laugh hysterically. Shibayama watches their interaction and comments how they are missing Hinata's star moment.
Kageyama's Lies: Hinata excitedly asks Kageyama if he had seen his amazing receives. Kageyama lies and says that he didn't because a pair of Japanese Horned Beetles landed on his eyes. Hinata tries to prove Kageyama wrong by pointing out how it's currently January. Kageyama changes his story to say that it was a red crane instead, but Daichi points out just how bad Kageyama is at fibbing.
The Comparison To Bokuto: Ōmimi blocks Tanaka as he attempted the cross shot and labels the Karasuno wing spiker as a weaker version of Bokuto. Seeing Tanaka appear to be disappointed in himself, Ōmimi thinks he was correct in his assumption. He soon sees Tanaka pull himself out of his five-second-long depression and quietly states that Tanaka's mental fortitude is a much stronger version of Bokuto's.
