Appearance[]
Sasaki is one of the shorter girls on her team, with a small and thin build. She has light skin and light brown eyes. Her hair is short and light brown, and it's often seen with the right-side bangs pulled behind her ear and secured with hairclips. The other side is left free. After retiring from the volleyball club, she grew her hair to shoulder length.
Sasaki is seen in her volleyball uniform, which consists of a black #11 jersey with white details, black shorts with a white stripe down each side, black kneepads, and red-and-white volleyball shoes. She is also seen in her school uniform, which is the same Karasuno girls' uniform as all the other girls at the school.

When she accompanied Yui Michimiya and Mao Aihara to Karasuno's match against Shiratorizawa, she wore a white long-sleeve blouse with a light brown collar and a medium-brown vest. She also carried a purple purse.

Sasaki is a quiet and sweet girl who is often unsure of her own abilities and tends to quickly blame herself for any mistakes.
Plot[]
Interhigh Arc[]
In the girls' first match of the tournament, Sasaki failed to make several receives of spikes and serves from the opposing team. Even as Michimiya attempted to help her gain confidence of her receives, Sasaki remained doubtful of her abilities until Michimiya was able to get through to her with the belief that they should not give up so easily.
Unfortunately, the girls' would eventually lose the match. Sasaki is seen tearfully blaming herself for their loss as she voices how the other team knew she was a weak receiver and had gained many points from targeting her. Even as Michimiya tried to ease her pain, Sasaki continued to blame herself.
Sasaki later joined the team in going to watch the boys' team play against Date Tech. Upon arriving, she was surprised to see the quick attack by Hinata.
Spring High Preliminary Arc[]
When the boys' team managed to win their way to the final around of the tournament, Sasaki joins Michimiya and Aihara to support the team. She witnessed as Michimiya had nervously given Daichi a charm for luck during the match. During the match, she would give as much support as she could but also showed great worry during moments when it seemed like Shiratorizawa would win.

- Mao Aihara and Yui Michimiya: Sasaki appears to be close friends with Michimiya and Aihara. She has great respect for Michimiya as the team captain and admires how she always tries to keep everyone in high spirits.
