"Crispy Skill In Making Chocolate" (Japanese:
Overview[]
Sakusa embarks on a journey to create the perfect batch of chocolate using skills and ingredients of experts he meets.
Plot[]
The members of the MSBY Black Jackals are shocked to see a large truck overflowing with chocolates and gifts celebrating Valentine's Day pull up in front of them. As Bokuto and Atsumu try to claim at least half the contents being for them, Adriah comments how boys are the ones to give girls chocolate in his country and playfully comments how everything is reversed in Japan.
The team's mascot, Jackalsuke, locates Sakusa and holds up a sign informing him that many of the gifts are for him. Although he feels bad about it, Sakusa rejects the gifts sent to him. The mascot does not let up so easily as he holds up more signs to tell Sakusa that the team will be making a video for the fans to show their appreciation and that Sakusa is still struggling with cooperation.
Later that night, Sakusa is talking on the phone with his former captain about having to eat some of the chocolate or else face a punishment from the team. He tells Iizuna that he is fearful of someone being like Atsumu and having possibly made the chocolate while sitting naked on the toilet. Iizuna jests that Sakusa's imagination gets away from him sometimes but, understanding how he feels, informs the young wing spiker how he had gotten around the rule the previous year; being that he made his own chocolate for the video since nothing said he couldn't eat chocolate he made himself. Sakusa gratefully accepts the information.
Later, Komori is warned by Sakusa not to enter the kitchen while he's cooking until he has completely disinfected himself. Sakusa then reveals how interesting it is learning about making chocolate but also sees that trying to make it himself is not enough. He later travels to Paris with Ushijima and is introduced to Tendō. After gleefully getting Sakusa to admit he remembers the Guess Monster, Tendō tries to offer his new treat of wasabi chocolate, but Sakusa politely turns it down from knowing Tendō made it. Tendō asks about Sakusa's attempt to make chocolate himself and suggests he make a Choco Puff since it would be crispy chocolate.
Returning to Japan, Sakusa next visits Kita with Atsumu to obtain a bag of rice. Sakusa, dressed like a pastry chef due to fascination, states that Atsumu claims Kita's rice is of the highest quality and is therefore suitable for his chocolate. Sakusa becomes more impressed when Kita details how much work he puts into making sure his rice is well grown and taken care of. Hearing how proper Kita is, Sakusa wonders how he went to the same school as Aran and Atsumu. Atsumu naturally takes it as a jab which only becomes worse when Kita states he feels the same as Sakusa but admits he's just joking. As Kita's grandmother brings them tea, Sakusa accepts Kita's offer to watch a five-hour long video showing all the work Kita has done in the field.
The next day at a coffee shop, Bokuto introduces Sakusa to Yukie and boasts of her job as a nutritionist. Sakusa, now adding a farmer's hat to his outfit, asks to know everything about chocolate. Yukie begins to detail all of the scientific aspects and ingredients about the treat that Sakusa absorbs eagerly but quickly puts Bokuto to sleep.
With all of the information and ingredients, Sakusa is able to produce a batch of what he believes is the perfect chocolate treat. With his attire now having items that a nutritionist would wear, Sakusa goes over everything he used to make the chocolate and gives Atsumu and Bokuto boxes of the chocolate as gratitude for the help they provided him including extra for Kita and Yukie. Their teammates quickly ask for chocolates to try and end up taking all the chocolate Sakusa had made, including the share he was supposed to eat for the video.
Later, Tendō is watching the video and sees Sakusa eating the wasabi chocolate Tendō made him. From the video, Ushijima tells Sakusa that Tendō's sales have risen, and the chocolatier sent another batch of chocolate to him as thanks.
