Thank you for picking up Haikyū!! volume 9. As I continue to work on this manga, I can't help but feel that even though I give 100 percent effort, it doesn't always translate into 100 percent in terms of results. Even if I draw and redraw up until the last second, it seems like I'm not even close to that 100 percent. On the other hands, if I redraw too much, I often wind up thinking, "It was better before I fixed it." Basically, what I'm trying to say is that I need to sit back, have a more optimistic outlook on like and enjoy a good beer.[2]
Synopsis[]
Motivated by their heartbreaking loss to Aoba Johsai, Karasuno now works towards a new goal—the Spring Tournament! The team gears up for a trip to Tokyo for a training camp with some of the top teams in Tokyo, including Nekoma, but there's something they need to do first... pass their finals! Hinata, Kageyama, Nishinoya and Tanaka are all at risk of not being allowed to go. What are they going to do?![2]
Special Drama CD Edition[]
In Japan, a special edition of volume 9 was released that included a Drama CD which contained an audio drama entitled "What if the female manager of the Karasuno High School Volleyball Club was not Kiyoko Shimizu" (Japanese: もしも鳥野高校排球部の女子マネージャーが清水潔子じゃなかったら). This story is an adaption of a chapter from Haikyū!! Shōsetsuban!! volume one in which Kiyoko Shimizu falls ill, and Shōyō Hinata, Yū Nishinoya and Ryūnosuke Tanaka have to take on her duties. The voice actors from the anime reprise their roles.
