"Freedom" (Japanese:
Overview[]
True to his free-spirited nature, Nishinoya is in the midst of traveling the world and accumulating various new experiences; meanwhile, Hinata continues to show off his newfound freedom on the court that results from being strong.
Plot[]
While Adlers call for their second timeout, Sugawara asks the others about Nishinoya's whereabouts. Asahi reveals Nishinoya is currently fishing for marlins in Italy, much to Daichi's surprise. Asahi recalls that he once asked Nishinoya about his future plans when he was hesitant about studying fashion in Tokyo. Nishinoya was decisive and had already planned to travel the world and experience new things after high school. In the present, the Former Karasuno third-years are in awe of their juniors' bold choices as they remember Takeda telling them that they can achieve anything if they set their mind on it.
Once the match resumes, Sokolov sends a tricky serve toward Hinata. Hinata makes a clean receive with an overhand, allowing Jackals to score with a quick from Tomas. With the Jackals leading 23-19, Romero receives Tomas' serve and immediately moves in to spike. The ball gets past the blockers and flies toward Bokuto's face. Not having enough time to use his arms, Bokuto stands up straight and bumps the ball with his chest. Bokuto enthusiastically calls for the ball while Atsumu uses the opportunity to score with a dump shot. The Jackals reach set point first, but Ushijima quickly scores with a spike that overpowers Hinata. Kageyama follows up with a serve that grazes the net. Atsumu saves the ball, and Hinata is already in-position to spike on second touch. With the blockers closing in, Hinata switches to a set at the last second to direct the ball to Bokuto, who successfully clinches a first set victory for the Jackals.
