The book contains information on over 100 characters that have appeared in the Haikyū!! manga, including characters that weren't named in the series itself. It also includes information on the matches, an interview with Haruichi Furudate, and a reprint of the second Haikyū!! one-shot.

The book has been translated into Chinese and published in Taiwan[2] and Hong Kong[3] by Tong Li Publishing with the title 排球少年!! 完全導讀手冊 排球本! (Volleyball Boy!! Complete Guide to Volleyball Book!), and Korean[4] by Daewon C.I. with the title 하이큐!! 컴플리트 가이드북 (High-Q!! Complete Guidebook).
