Overview[]
Karasuno and Shiratorizawa struggle to win the second set. As the points go higher, Karasuno is gradually adapting to Shiratorizawa's playstyle.
Plot[]
With the second set approaching its end, the coaches take the timeout to raise their teams' morale. Once the game resumes, Kageyama drives his serve into the net and forfeits Karasuno's lead. Karasuno brushes off the mistake, but they all know they can't afford to lose another set.
Just then, Shiratorizawa subs in Semi as a pinch server. Semi's serve disrupts Karasuno's formation, and Shiratorizawa deflects Daichi's spike. Shirabu gets the first touch and passes to Semi. Semi acts as a backup setter and coordinates an attack with Goshiki to take back the lead 27-26. Semi serves a second time. Daichi bumps the ball but sends an extremely short pass. However, the oddball combo easily adapts and scores with a quick set. The intense rallies continue with neither side willing to give an inch.
With the score tied at 28-28, Tsukishima rotates into the front row while Hinata prepares to serve. Shimada and Takinoue grow worried that Hinata will be a liability in the back row with his weak serves and receives. Meanwhile, Tsukishima is focused as he emphasizes the importance of accessing the situation and not being fooled by the opposing setter. When Shiratorizawa goes on the offense, Tsukishima accurately reads Shirabu's toss to Ushijima and deflects the spike. The ball ricochets high and far into the air, but Hinata is there to keep the ball alive.
