"I Hate Him" (Japanese:
Overview[]
Sugawara promises to do more group attacks after Tendō blocked their last one. Hinata returns to the game. He saves a ball with his cheeks since using his hands would have been too late. He notes that he intentionally used his cheeks—and not his face—to avoid being benched. After remembering Oikawa's warning, Ushijima concludes that there is something about Hinata that bothers him, and that this discomfort leads to a desire of crushing him. With a score of 8-6 in Shiratorizawa's favor, Kageyama prepares to return to the game.
Plot[]
Tendō is showered with praise for successfully blocking Sugawara. Despite having been blocked, Sugawara tells Tendō that Karasuno will be trying the same thing again.
After the court change, Ushijima is up to serve again. However, his serve hit the net and his serving streak is stopped. Hinata is now in the front row and many fans watching believe that the match is about to get exciting. Kazuhito Narita makes the next serve but panics when he realizes he didn't hit it properly. Reon makes the first receive and Ushijima follows. Tendō gets the last hit past Hinata but Narita is able to receive. Tanaka gives Asahi the last hit but Reon is able to block him.
Almost in slow motion, Hinata sees the ball heading right to him and that he would not be able to get his hands up in time to receive. He turns his face and lets the ball hit his cheek. Hinata quickly moves for a quick attack while reminding himself that he has to use a first tempo since Kageyama is still on the bench. Tendō follows Hinata to one side of the court, but both are shocked when Sugawara instead sets to Tanaka on the opposite side. With only Shirabu trying to block, Tanaka is able to get past him and score. The Karasuno team take the chance to check on Hinata who claims to be fine despite where he was hit. Hinata reveals that he had seen the ball coming and knew he wouldn't be able to get his hands up. The others are surprised Hinata was able to see what was happening so clearly and that he knew if he got an injury he would be removed from the game.
Ushijima, having heard Hinata's admission, remembers thinking how he believed Hinata would be a player of great skill when he first saw his incredible jump. But after having seen for himself that Hinata was not of great skill, Ushijima believed he was wrong in his assumption. Despite this, Ushijima finally realizes that he finds Hinata to be a great irritation and wants nothing more than to defeat him. Hinata senses Ushijima's hostility and the two stare one another down.
Kōji and Izumi spot Kageyama getting warmed-up and believe that he will be sent back into the match soon.

Errors[]
- There is an error on the top first panel of page 6. In order from right to left, Karasuno's side has Narita, Sugawara, Hinata, and a player with jersey number 3. Although there is a noticeable bun, the hair color is not Asahi's. In fact, the previous and proceeding panels clearly show that it is Tanaka that is on the immediate back left-side of Hinata. Furthermore, it also shows Asahi attacking from the far end of the court. As such, the player on the top first panel of page 6 should have jersey number 5.
Trivia[]
- In commemoration of the second anime season, a center color page consists of Yachi dressed like a witch on a broomstick, a Frankenstein-Asahi, a zombie-Shimizu with a severed right hand, Kageyama in a vampire costume, Saeko as a cat-woman, and Hinata dressed like a ghost. The text reads: "Trick or Volleyball!!"
- In the bonus page, Tendō shows Semi a photo of himself when he was a kid with a bowl cut hair style. Semi laughs at the photo and claims Tendō looks like a kid version of Goshiki.
