Aftermath[]

Sakusa leaves the court and interrupts bystanders talking about how Hinata got sick. He tells them that they should be nice to him and not describe him as a poor thing, as this will just make him feel worse. Behind Sakusa, two of his teammates are helping Iizuna go off the court so he can receive aid for his ankle. A journalist is shocked about it and is frantically writing in his notebook. Inubushi Higashi, exhausted after playing a final set that nearly went into the 30s, is celebrating their amazing victory. A bystander mentions that none of the country's top 3 hitters made it past the quarterfinals. Bokuto says it is a pity for Sakusa, as he wanted to face him. Hibarida says that he wanted to see more of Sakusa play but then goes on to mention that only one lucky team can escape the feeling of losing and that in the future they will lose too. No team is ever at the top forever.

Sakusa tells Komori that even though they practiced everything they could possibly do, they still lost despite being number one. Itachiyama's cheer squad is concerned after seeing Iizuna injured. As they are walking out, Iizuna tells Sakusa that he knows what he is thinking. Iizuna says that Sakusa is thinking that it is always possible to get injured in a game and there is no reason to cry, and he is right, as Komori knows Sakusa well. Sakusa says that he can if he had regrets by not practicing enough or preparing properly before the game, but neither was the case for Iizuna; Iizuna says that is why it hurts even more. Sakusa says that he gets it; he doesn't want people to tell Iizuna that it is a pity for him or that it stinks to be him. Iizuna says that it does stink to be him though, and that he was happy that Sakusa was thinking of him. Sakusa says that he wasn't, though. As he is crying, Iizuna, a third-year, in which this was his last high school game, says that this isn't his last volleyball game. When that time comes, he says he will finish it with a big smile.
