Plot[]

Tokyo Nationals Arc[]

Not long before Karasuno's match against Kamomedai is about to start, Hoshiumi expresses his relief at how no one is going to underestimate him anymore. Nozawa scoffs at this because he says that no one has done that anymore since the team has made it to the quarterfinals and that nobody's that stupid. Soon after, when the match starts and Hirugami can quickly react to Hinata's quick set and block Tanaka despite having Hinata been used as a decoy, he is praised by the commentators with the nickname "Hirugami the Immovable."[1] At this, Nozawa remarks that Hirugami is being called an immovable object of some sort, and Suwa tells him that if he's going to say it, he might as well as the whole thing.

Soon after, Nozawa serves but the ball goes out of the court. Hoshiumi gets blocked by Tsukishima and is frustrated. Murphy tries to calm him down, which confuses Hakuba, and Nozawa has to explain to him. Asahi serves and both Hakuba and Nozawa manage to bump it messily. Nozawa knows it's ending up as a split toss. Sometime after, Hakuba reluctantly praises Hoshiumi's perfect set and Nozawa tells his junior to have done it more politely.

When Hakuba wins Kamomedai the first set, Nozawa still taunts him by telling him about what he thought was a funny sound he made when he saw Hinata jump sideways, despite their captain having praised him right before. Not long after, during the second set, Hakuba and Hoshiumi are being used as decoys for Suwa to set for Nozawa, which tricks Hinata, the one who has previously been tricking Kamomedai. Later on, Asahi slams the ball and is about to earn Karasuno a point until Nozawa is able to roughly save the ball in time.

Karasuno seemed to be winning the set since they were gaining multiple points in a row, and Nozawa thinks to himself that even though it seemed like all the luck was on Karasuno's side, and that to Kamomedai, momentum was nonexistent and that all it was was a succession of good and bad plays. Starting the third set, Kageyama serves, but Nozawa can bump it messily. Nozawa knows that teams are going to have good servers so that he just has to try his best and let his teammates do that as well. Additionally, he doesn't bother himself with being frustrated right after he messes up in the middle of a game and to instead does that after.[2]

When Hinata uses his minus tempo attack to get through Kamomedai's defense, Hakuba is so shocked that he starts complimenting him, which Nozawa remarks on but Suwa says that deep down, he's just a nice kid. Near the end of the third set, the announcers keep praising Hoshiumi and Hirugami, which doesn't bother Nozawa even though they get all the glory. After this, Kageyama serves and Nozawa is able to receive it and it flies back to the other side of the court.
