"Just a Point" (Japanese: たかが1
Overview[]
Thanks to Tsukishima, Karasuno has won the second set. As the team celebrates, people are noting how Tsukishima has changed. Meanwhile, Kenjirō Shirabu tries to pull himself together.
Plot[]
Karasuno celebrates as Tsukishima's block wins the second set for the team. Sugawara, having earned a strange look from Yamaguchi earlier on, apologizes for underestimating Tsukishima's blocking abilities. Yamaguchi says it was unintentional and explains that he expected a feat like this from Tsukishima due to the latter's competitiveness.
In the stands, Akiteru is crying tears of joy at seeing his brother fitting in with the team. Saeko commends Tsukishima for blocking Ushijima, but Akiteru notes that Shiratorizawa's set was a bit off. Coach Ukai has also noticed the error. He explains to Takeda that the setters are under heavy pressure when their hitters are not getting clean attacks through. As such, Tsukishima purposely goaded Shiratorizawa into making an error, fully knowing that the setter would try to find an opening in the block.
The third-years compliment Tsukishima for a job well done, but the middle blocker remains perfectly calm as he explains his extensive thought process. Meanwhile, others are taking notice of Tsukishima's strategy and abilities to plan far ahead. Hinata congratulates Tsukishima for scoring a point that's as impactful as scoring a hundred. Tsukishima replies with a snarky thanks as he silently challenges Hinata to do the same. On Shiratorizawa's side, Washijō is seemingly brooding after the team dropped the second set. After being lectured by his coach, Shirabu slaps himself on the face to get back his bearing and carries on with newfound determination.
The third set begins with Karasuno intent on riding their current momentum. However, they soon find themselves lagging behind 15-20 as Shiratorizawa returns to form. Shirabu has regained his focus and knows what he needs to do.
