Plot[]
Spring High Preliminary Arc[]
When Bobata fails his serve, Higashiyama and Terushima playfully mock him for it, which makes Takinoue notice that despite losing that rally, they are still full of energy. Shortly after, Higashiyama would be able to receive Kageyama's serve on his first try. In another rally, Higashiyama's spike fails to get past Tsukishima. Because each Johzenji player is used not to rely on their other teammates to get a ball, Higashiyama and Futamata both argue when bumping into each other.
Despite their short feud, Higashiyama manages a good emergency set to Futamata in the next rally, and the setter scores successfully. After a lecture from Misaki, Higashiyama does a tip to fool Daichi and his previous impressive saves and the blocker becomes smug when seeing that he successfully scored.
