"Kenma and Volleyball" (Japanese:
Overview[]
When trying to make friends with Yamamoto through volleyball, Kenma starts to see how volleyball can allow others to connect.
Plot[]
Kenma tells Kuroo, whom he is calling Kuroemon, that he was bullied by Gorilla Yamamoto again. Kuroemon's solution to Kenma's problem is to present a volleyball to the young teen but Kenma hits the ball away and says it is not a good solution and has failed him a few times before. Kuroemon still suggests that Kenma give it a try and see if he can finally make friends with Gorilla Yamamoto.
Heading outside, Kenma right away comes face to face with Gorilla Yamamoto. Suspecting that Kenma was inside playing games again, Gorilla Yamamoto tells him that they are going to run and exercise but stops when he sees Kenma is holding a volleyball. Almost instantly, Gorilla Yamamoto becomes docile and asks Kenma to play volleyball with him. With Kuroemon encouraging it, Gorilla Yamamoto drags Kenma to a field where they can play but right away run into a group of people named the Fukurōdani Rangers Boochaman who claim the field for themselves. When Gorilla Yamamoto tries to state that the field is for everyone, they are now joined by Sakusa who has arrived to purify the world and avenge the two for being denied the opportunity to play.
When Kenma suggests that he and Gorilla Yamamoto can play volleyball somewhere else, everyone suddenly calms down and show interest at the mention of volleyball. They suddenly bow before Kenma and apologize for their rudeness and Bokuto offers to let Kenma use them for practice in order to make up for their behavior. As everyone begins arguing over who will be the first to play, Kenma suddenly suggests that they all play since volleyball is a sport that everyone can enjoy together. The group begins to play a game together as Kuroemon watches from a tree and muses how volleyball is a sport that connects.
The commercial ends with Kuroo asking for those interested in volleyball to start playing. Kenma is clearly disgusted at the commercial and only agrees to invest in it if his role is changed.
