Overview[]
Karasuno grows accustomed to Suna's unusual spikes the more he uses it. Instead of going for a kill block, Tsukishima continues to restrict Suna's course to ensure his teammates would receive the spike. Eventually, Kinoshita is subbed in as a pinch server intending to make a difference, but it's easier said than done.
Plot[]
Kageyama shuts down Aran's spike singlehandedly. Suna recalls his experience dealing with various skilled blockers and concludes that Kageyama is more terrifying than Tsukishima as a blocker. Daichi makes his second serve that Aran easily receives. Atsumu sets to Osamu, who strikes from the right. Daichi manages to keep the ball in play but sends it directly back to Inarizaki. Seeing a free ball, Suna moves in to spike while Tsukishima prepares to block.
During the briefing the night before, the team carefully analyzes Suna's unique spiking posture. Coach Ukai reinforces the notion that the blocker will always have the support of the whole team when dealing with a spiker. In the present, Tsukishima blocks off the right side to force Suna to spike left right toward Daichi. Daichi makes a clean receive, and Karasuno capitalizes on the chance to score. While spectating, Kuroo recognizes that Tsukishima has been setting up the proper teamwork to deal with Suna in the most efficient manner instead going for the kill block directly. He explains that losing points in volleyball is given but Suna's overuse of the cross spike would benefit Karasuno later on. Meanwhile, after a brief exchange of words, Suna is alerted to the fact that Tsukishima is much more troublesome than initially expected.
Kinoshita is subbed in in replace of Tsukishima as a pinch server. Despite his determination to score a service ace, Osamu aptly receives it and allows Aran to strike back. Kinoshita's time on the court comes to the end. He goes back with his hope of having a victorious moment crushed.
