Plot[]
Most of Mineo's appearances are in the form of flashbacks. He helped Nishinoya with several fears he had when he was young; such as his dislike of vegetables, a neighborhood dog that seemed unapproachable, and riding a bike. By making his grandson face these things head on, he was able to help Nishinoya understand that new things are not always as bad as they may seem, and that, if he wasn't sure what to do, he can always ask someone for help. These lessons would help Nishinoya during the Spring Tournament in the game against Inarizaki.
