Overview[]
The grueling match between Karasuno and Inarizaki comes to a conclusion as one team finally emerges victorious and moves onto the third round of the Spring Tournament.
Plot[]
Thanks to Hinata's save of using his foot to get the ball over, Karasuno has reached match point. Suna is able to change this when he brings the score to a deuce. Immediately after he scores, Suna notices how Atsumu's concentration seems to have not once faltered during the match and seems as sharp as ever. Kita continues to converse with his junior's about how monsters do exist and how they are able to express their love for volleyball every day. Kita refers to the experience of getting to greet and play such people as being invited to the monsters' ball and expresses his joy at having been lucky enough to attend such an event. As Atsumu gets ready to serve, Daichi encourages the team to make it through this play.
At Johzenji High, Anabara wonders if the setter will target someone like he had with Nishinoya as it is almost certain that Karasuno's receivers must be feeling an intense amount of pressure at this point. Atsumu does a jump float that goes directly to Daichi. Despite his best efforts, Daichi is unable to receive the serve and Inarizaki gains the point, putting them at match point once again. While Inarizaki celebrates, Ukai calls out to the players that they don't need a miracle. Daichi agrees and points out how they seem to go through the same thing anytime they have been in a similar situation against another team. Although this seems to relax some of the players, Daichi is still aware of how grave one mistake could be to them.
Atsumu sends a powerful spike serve over, but Daichi is able to dig the ball. As the ball appears like it will go over the net and back to Inarizaki, Kageyama, not wanting to lose to Hinata, is able to reach the ball and set to his fellow first-year. Suna is taken by surprise that Kageyama managed to make the set and can only watch as Hinata scores. The play is given great praise and even Atsumu and Osamu are impressed. As he watches Hinata be complimented by his upperclassmen, Atsumu realizes that the middle blocker doesn't really have complete faith in his setter but really just believes that the ball will simply come to him. At this, Atsumu gives Kageyama his condolences since the setter is partnered with someone as terrifying as Hinata. Kageyama himself tries to project to Hinata that the play was successful because of his set but Hinata doesn't seem to pick up the message, mostly because he is confused by Kageyama's behavior.
Tied at 27-27, the Inarizaki supporters feel a sense of relief when they see Hinata move to the back to serve. At the same time, Takinoue and Shimada plead for the team to not allow Inarizaki to score until Asahi is next to serve. Tsukishima moves onto the court but notices how worn out he is getting. As Suna is about to spike, Tsukishima jumps to direct the spike. He is aware that he would surely get great admiration from his team if he were able to completely block Suna but knows that he cannot. Because of this, he puts his faith in hoping that Hinata will be in position to receive.
Hinata receives the spike and, although he is celebrated for it, knows that he was not able to do so without Tsukishima and his amazing blocks. Despite Karasuno doing a synchronized attack and the Inarizaki blockers being slightly delayed, they are still able to direct Asahi's spike to head where Akagi would be able to receive. Mika is amazed that Akagi was able to receive Asahi's spike until Suguru explains that the libero was able to do so because the blockers had positioned themselves in order to force Asahi to spike directly to the libero and how each player and their position is able to do certain things that ultimately help their teammates so they are not heavily burdened. Atsumu sets to Ginjima. Tsukishima becomes annoyed at how his body is starting to fall behind his mind as he is barely able to get in place to get a one-touch on the spike and then has to rely on Daichi to keep from falling over. Tanaka is able to receive and Kageyama sets to Asahi. While he approaches, Asahi admits to himself that he's jealous of the second- and first-years as well as the incoming first-years who will be able to receive Kageyama's sets but at the same time also feels sympathy for them.
Asahi is able to keep perfect form when faced with the triple block and delivers a powerful block-out that sends the ball into the crowd before Akagi is able to save it. Asahi's form is noticed by Futakuchi and Aone. They explain how they noticed the ace keep his form solid during their practice match which allowed him to spike when the blockers began descending first. With Karasuno at match point, Kita questions his teammates if he can guess how the players on the court must be feeling. Despite their answers of guessing the players must be running low on stamina and feeling a great amount of pressure, Kita states that the players are feeling that the next person who is able to score will be dubbed the hero.
As Aran receives Hinata's serve, Osamu begins to feel angry at Atsumu for getting excited by the Karasuno first-years and silently ridicules his brother being labeled as the number one high school setter. However, Atsumu feels a sense of luxury at sensing someone mentally calling for the ball to be sent to them with the promising of gaining a point. To Osamu's annoyance, Atsumu uses that to distract Karasuno and sets to Suna. The middle blocker is able to score although Atsumu would claim that he couldn't stand his attacks continually being saved. When Tsukishima's spike gets a one-touch, Atsumu gets the ball up and calls for Osamu to make the set. Aran is able to get his spike passed Karasuno's triple block and put Inarizaki back at match point. Takinoue and Shimada watch Osamu move to the back row to serve and feel certain that there will not be a quick attack at this point which will give Karasuno the better chance to gain back any lost points. Asahi is able to receive the serve and Kageyama surprises Inarizaki by performing a setter dump. The announcers comment how his setter dump was so successful from Inarizaki keeping an eye on all of Karasuno as they all appeared ready to attack.
Yachi watches Tsukishima serve and becomes fearful that the ball will not make it over the net. The serve narrowly goes into Inarizaki's territory and Aran manages to save it while coming to the realization that all of Tsukishima's serves had been exactly like this one. Ginjima gets the last hit over, but Tsukishima receives. After Hinata's spike is received, Ukai notices how the the team is starting to pick up speed and tries to urge them to slow down. His words don't appear to reach the players as he watches Daichi receive Aran's spike and Kageyama immediately send the set to Tanaka. Atsumu and Ōmimi get the block up and Tanaka immediately sees that his spike will be blocked and that his approach was too short for him to make a proper spike.
Ukai continues to try to get the team to listen to him but sees their desperation is causing them to be completely focused on scoring until Hinata surprises them all by sending the first touch high into the air. Anabara muses on the high toss being one that is easily forgotten but can actually be of great importance during a chaotic match as it will allow a player and his team to take the opportunity to gather themselves. As Sugawara watches, he recalls how Hinata was when he first became part of the club and becomes tearful at seeing how much he has grown since then. Now that Karasuno has collected themselves, they launch a synchronized attack as numerous schools continue to watch. Tanaka attempts a spike but Atsumu and Ōmimi block him. Although Kageyama is able to get the ball up, it heads toward the back of the court where Tsukishima makes a desperate dive to reach the ball before it lands out. He is able to narrowly get the ball up but it continues to go out. Daichi is able to reach it in time and get the ball back to Inarizaki.
While Karasuno quickly gets back into formation, Atsumu and Osamu prepare to unleash the minus tempo quick attack. Several members of Karasuno see what the twins are attempting. Osamu spikes the ball but is instantly blocked by Hinata and Kageyama. As the ball heads toward the back of the court, Ginjima and Akagi attempt to reach the ball but are unable to make it when the ball lands and Karasuno gains the final point to win the match. Tsukishima feels certain that everyone watching must be surprised but believes that Karasuno is not surprised. He is certain that in that one brief moment the Miya twins were attempting their own super quick attack, only Hinata and Kageyama did not falter. Knowing that speed is a powerful and hypnotizing weapon, Tsukishima knows that it is not invincible and that Hinata and Kageyama are more aware of this than anyone else.

Trivia[]
- In Season 1 Episode 24, Kageyama says a similar line to Atsumu. Kageyama says: "Now! In this position, with this timing, this angle... Dead On!", but loses to Seijoh because Hinata is shut down by the block, and no one is able to get the ball after that. Now, Atsumu says: "This position... This timing... This angle... It's perfect!", but loses to Karasuno because Osamu is clearly read by Kageyama and Hinata, and like how Karasuno lost in the Interhigh Qualifiers, nobody on Inarizaki is able to get the ball.
