Background[]

Plot[]
Tokyo Nationals Arc[]
Just before the game starts, Maruyama attempts to keep everyone highly motivated but Teradomari simply states that he is only making them look like a disorderly group. With their coach pointing out how nervous Maruyama appears, Teradomari adds how shaken Maruyama was during their previous attendance at Nationals.[1]
At seeing how Echigo was able to help everyone become positive about facing Karasuno instead of Shiratorizawa, Teradomari praises the captain's skills in this but hears Echigo admit that they still cannot let their guard down since Karasuno did manage to beat Shiratorizawa and how Maruyama isn't the only one who doesn't want a repeat of their previous time at Nationals.
The game soon starts. After Daichi's first spike attempt was received, Teradomari is sent the ball. Thanks to his height, he is able to get the ball over the triple block but is annoyed to see Nishinoya make the receive. Seeing Hinata preparing to attack, Teradomari gets ready to block, only to see Kageyama unintentionally send the ball out. Sometime later, Teradomari is kept from attacking when he is forced to make the second touch after Yamaguchi does a float serve.
Late in the first set, it's shown that Tsubakihara had advanced to the previous Spring Tournament, but many of the players became nervous and were not able to play well. Because of that, Tsubakihara was eliminated in the first round.[2] Thanks to Maruyama receiving Kageyama's next serve, Teradomari is able to spike the ball past Karasuno, and with enough power, the ball goes into the second-floor bleachers. With the set continuing, Teradomari begins to have a rivalry with Asahi. With the new rotation for Karasuno, Tsubakihara is now faced with Tsukishima being able to correctly read their attacks and get numerous one-touches. Teradomari is not willing to let the middle blocker underestimate him and is able to hit a straight shot past the triple block. Despite his effort, Hinata is in a position to receive it, even though it hits him on the chest.
Karasuno eventually reaches set point first, and Aoi Himekawa is subbed in to serve. Unfortunately, the first-year fails to hit his serve properly, and the ball hits Teradomari directly on the back of his head. As the teams switch sides, Teradomari expresses his annoyance by telling Himekawa to hit someone else if he misses again. During the second set, although he was cautious at first, Teradomari celebrates Himekawa's successful ceiling serves that cause Karasuno to struggle. After several ceiling serves, Himekawa is soon subbed out. Teradomari is again relied on to help gain points but continually finds Nishinoya to be a problem.
Karasuno soon reaches match point and, thanks to help from Sugawara, is able to win the game and remove Tsubakihara from the tournament. Teradomari leaves the court with Echigo and Maruyama with tearful expressions. They thank their supporters before heading to their coach, who suggests they leave to eat.[3]
