Overview[]
Karasuno has won the match against Johzenji and are advancing to the quarterfinals. They begin to prepare for their next match against Wakutani Minami High, who Ukai believes will give them great trouble.
Plot[]
Karasuno has won the match against Johzenji and are now advancing to the quarterfinals. Terushima expresses his frustration at the match being over as soon as he started to really get serious about it. As the players come off the court, Coach Anabara gives gratitude to Misaki for being the one who knew the team best and was able to keep them together during a critical moment.
As they get ready to leave, Futakuchi and Aone conclude that Hinata's quick attack has changed. As the rest of the Date Tech players leave, Aone stays behind.
Coach Anabara speak to the players of how they can have all the fun they want as long as they don't lose themselves in the process. He also advises them to thank Misaki for being the one who ultimately kept them in check during the game. Misaki requests the players not give their new manager, first-year Runa Kuribayashi, a hard time during the next tournament as she states she will be keeping an eye on them. She praises their style of playing to be very cool and causes the players to blush. Terushima thanks Misaki for her help before she leaves the gym.
The Karasuno team leave the gym and meet with Yachi to celebrate their victory. Aone suddenly appears and approaches Hinata. He promises that he will stop Hinata if they are to play against each other the following day. Hinata proudly declares that he will dodge all of Aone's blocks. After Aone leaves, the first years hear the game on court B end and go to see who won. There they spot the Wakutani Minami High team leaving the court as the victors. A cheer catches their attention, and they spot the famed family cheering squad of the Wakunan team captain, Takeru Nakashima, cheering for him.
Kageyama remembers that Wakutani Minami, Takeru in particular, is the team that Ukai had warned them about at an earlier time and Hinata realizes that this will be the team that they will have to defeat if they want to face Date Tech.
Back at the school, Takeda praises the team for their well-played game. He reminds them that their next game will be part of the semifinals and that if they claim victory in their first game they will play a second game. Ukai then takes over the meeting by warning the team that they will be facing Wakutani Minami in the first match. Unlike many other teams, Wakunan still has their third years on the team and adds that their receives and defense are akin to Nekoma. He tells them to stay patient if their hits are not able to get through right away, mostly telling this to Kageyama, Hinata, Tanaka, and Nishinoya. Daichi assures Ukai that the rest of the team will be there to back-up the rest, earning Ukai's envy when the team quickly feel reassured by Daichi's words.
The next day, Karasuno is preparing for their match when they notice Takeru's family is present once more and that more family members are present to cheer for him. Takeda notices that Ukai seems a bit concerned about facing Wakunan.
