Overview[]
The intense match between Fukurōdani and Mujinazaka comes to a conclusion with Fukurōdani emerging victoriously. The two teams reflect on their performances afterwards. Soon, Karasuno and Kamomedai is ready to face off in their own game.
Plot[]
Akaashi, although surprised, quickly decides to match Bokuto's fervor and manages a perfect setup to the ace. Bokuto breaks through the blockers with his spike and finds Kiryū in position to receive. The ball is sent flying back toward Fukurōdani's court but lands out-of-bounds, much to Kiryū's annoyance. Mujinazaka continues to put up a good fight despite trailing behind; however, they are unable to overturn the game and has to accept defeat after losing the third set 22-25.
During the customary player handshakes, Kiryū reveals that he is glad to be able to play against Bokuto in his last high school tournament. Bokuto also acknowledges Kiryū incredible ability to hit any ball but insists that Kiryū tell his teammates to set better for him. Afterwards, Mujinazaka reflects on their loss. Usuri, while crying, declares that he wants to set the ball to Kiryū even though he knows it puts a heavy burden on the latter. Kiryū comforts his teammates, telling them he has learned that their trust in him gives him strength. Kiryū once again praises his teammates and looks forward to their potential next year.
Meanwhile, Akaashi is lamenting over the mistakes he made in the early part of the game. He is soon joined by Bokuto, who energetically reassures him about his performance. The two begins their usual banter as they discuss the spontaneous back row attack. When Akaashi insists that they keep to plays they have practiced before, Bokuto successfully refutes his logic by reminding him that they use their game performance to fine-tune their practice. As Fukurōdani heads off after finishing their day 3 of the Spring Tournament, Karasuno is getting ready for their next opponent, Kamomedai.
