Quotes[]
- (To himself about Kita) "He's been that way ever since middle school. Never any unnecessary actions, never a superfluous word. His technical plays were still lacking in experience, but he was always diligent. And, now, Shinsuke is brimming with confidence. Not the 'I'm the strongest of all' type of confidence, but... the confidence from someone who knows they'll never screw up."[4][5]
- (To Riseki) "Even if the number one players in the world do nothin' but the same thing over and over, they'll get knocked out of the top spot lickety-split. We aren't the number one anything yet, so what will clinging to a year ago, a week ago, an hour ago get us? Nothing. Forget before. Focus on 'now', and find one thing, anything, to 'challenge' yourself with."[2][6]
