The match between Nekoma and Nohebi continues with Nohebi in the lead with 16-13! Fukunaga scores a point for Nekoma, but the play is called an out, because the referee's field of vision was blocked by Daishō. Nohebi becomes the first to reach 20 points. Daishō mentions that perhaps the referee was more bias towards the team he had a favorable impression of, which was why Nohebi had shifted from provocation to playing nice to change the atmosphere of the court in their favor. The game continues and Yaku jumps over the walled-off area to save the ball. Daishō also mentions that both teams are preserving and refusing to give in. Lev spikes, making the score 21-20 with Nohebi still in the lead!
With Nohebi Academy in the lead and Suguru making a show of an apology to Yamamoto, all favor seem to be on Nohebi's side. During a time-out, Lev voices his frustration about Suguru and questions if the other captain has always been this way. Kuroo explains that Suguru use to be be a rowdy player and has picked up the act of being polite in order to gain the admiration of the referee's and the fans. Kenma points out that the act is working.
When the time-out ends, Lev is once again targeted by the Nohebi players for not being a solid blocker. When he tries to block Suguru, he blocks the wrong way that allows Suguru to get the spike passed him but Yaku was able to see what was going to happen and was able to receive and Yamamoto was able to score.
Right away, Yaku begins scolding Lev on the way he waves his arms in random directions when blocking as it makes it hard for him to receive. Lev replies that it would not matter how he blocks because Yaku is such a great libero that he would be able to save any kind of ball. Yaku instantly becomes flattered by Lev's confession and is teased by Kuroo that flattery will ruin his 'demon senpai' image.
Eventually, Nekoma is starting to catch up in the score and Kuroo is able to land a service ace that brings the score 18-19 with Nohebi ahead by one point. Seeing Fukunaga about to spike, Suguru purposely blocks the line ref's sight and calls the ball as landing out. The line ref is confused at what to do at first and calls the ball as landing in but the call is overturned and the point is given to Nohebi. Kuroo tries to get the call reserved but fails to change the ref's mind and thus Nohebi is the first team to reach 20 points.
The game continues and Suguru acknowledges that the ref's are not able to always keep up with certain things and can sometimes be more biased toward a team that has a more favorable impression. Nohebi uses this tactic to their advantage as well as causing their opponents to self-destruct by telling them things they don't want to hear. Kenma is able to pick up on these tricks when Yamamoto's straight shot lands out.
Lev gets a one touch on Suguru's spike. Yamamoto dives to save it but the ball continues to head towards the crowd. He becomes fearful that no one will be able to save the ball but is surprised to see Yaku jumping over the barriers and sending the ball back over to Nohebi's side.
Panicked, the Nohebi players desperately try to keep the ball going and eventually are able to get it back toward Nekoma only to see Lev appear and successfully slam the ball back down. As Suguru stares up at Lev, he remembers what Lev said about what Nekoma normally does is no longer than same.
