Plot[]

Spring High Preliminary Arc[]

Numajiri first appears in the episode Simple, Pure Strength, where he is seen with his team walking out of Kaji High School after Karasuno advances through the first preliminary of the Spring Playoffs. He is later seen with his team on the first day of the Qualifiers. His team's first opponent is Karasuno High School.

Johzenji's plan s2 e16

Immediately in the first rally, Asahi starts off with a harsh serve, which Numajiri struggles to bump but eventually manages to pass it to another teammate. As Terushima scores, Numajiri is seen cheering for his team. Shortly after, Futamata does a one-handed set on Numajiri. Right after, he is called to smash the ball back as Kageyama bumps it. Kageyama misjudges Numajiri once more when Tanaka does a line shot that the setter deems perfect, but Numajiri saves it nonetheless. When the first set concludes and Bobata suggests getting a new one, Numajiri mocks Bobata's suggestion.

During the second set, Numajiri lets way for Tsuchiyu to save the ball after they are about to bump into each other. He later apologizes for slowing the libero down. Along with Bobata, Numajiri becomes surprised when Terushima admits that Johzenji losing was not enjoyable to him. Sometime later, Numajiri is able to score past Hinata.
