Overview[]
When he needs a ride to an arranged marriage meeting, Ukai is forced to accept a ride from Saeko. Knowing her driving reputation, Ukai wonders if he will arrive at his destination in one piece.
Plot[]
While tending to his shop, Ukai is upset to hear that his mother has set up an arranged marriage meeting for him at one that afternoon. Despite all of his protests that he does not want to go through with the meeting, Ukai eventually gives in. As he prepares to leave, Ukai realizes that he doesn't have his car and tries to figure out how he can get to this meeting when Saeko suddenly appears in front of him.
Wondering if he needs a ride, Saeko offers him a ride, but Ukai knows how reckless she can be behind the wheel. Knowing he's on limited time and hearing that Saeko is heading to the same location, Ukai decides to accept the ride but keep his reasoning a secret. Saeko promises to get Ukai to the Karasuno Hotel as fast as she can but reassures him that she will only use fifty percent of her abilities when he requests that she drive carefully. Ukai asks that she be even more careful than that, but Saeko is not interested in this since it seems 'normal'.
As Saeko begins driving, Ukai asks that she be thoughtful when she drives in order for her to be aware of possible scenarios that may occur if she's not careful with her driving. Just as Saeko is beginning to understand what Ukai means, she remembers that she forgot to get Tanaka lunch and decides to speed up a bit in order to remedy the situation. When Ukai starts pleading to be let out of the car and even offers her money to stop, Saeko replies that she wants to do this in order to help the team however she can. At hearing this, Ukai decides that he will endure the ride and no longer complain.
In another part of town, Akiteru is driving Tsukishima to the station and enjoying having a drive with his brother. Tsukishima notices a car behind them that he feels is too close for comfort and that they're even being honked at. Looking behind them, Akiteru notices that the occupants of the car behind them are Saeko and Ukai. Saeko and Akiteru attempt friendly waves to one another but Ukai and Tsukishima think otherwise and notice that they are being watched by those around them.
Saeko then notices Shimada in his store van and attempts to greet him as well. Because of how close Saeko is driving to Shimada, Ukai is able to explain why Saeko is giving him a ride. Shimada remarks that, while his store doesn't sell tombstones, he can handle the flowers before driving off. Hoping that a talk will help calm Ukai, Saeko begins to ask questions about him. The tactic works although Ukai feels like he's having the arrange marriage meeting now. At asking how long until they reach the hotel, Saeko answers that she will be taking them down a curvy mountain road that she has deemed as a shortcut but begins to pick up speed once again.
Finally reaching the hotel, Ukai goes into a meeting room while promising himself that he will never again ride with Saeko. When an employee informs Ukai that his meeting partner has arrived, he is startled to see that the person he was sent to meet was actually Saeko. With the two having already had their talk on the ride there, they decide they don't need to have the meeting after all. The hotel employee asks if they would like a car called for them but Saeko, to Ukai's dismay, offers to take Ukai back.
