"Seijoh’s Day at the Beach" (Japanese:
Overview[]
Seijoh decides to spend the day at the beach. Oikawa attempts to pick up cute girls but finds the tables turned when a strange princess of the sea sets her eyes on him.
Plot[]
On a sunny day at the beach, Iwaizumi attempts to get the team to train but finds many of them upset at the thought of having to workout as they would rather spend their off day having fun and relaxing. As Iwaizumi tries to get them to think that training can be fun, he notices Oikawa is missing but quickly spots the setter lounging nearby and stating that a day at the beach is the perfect place for a summer romance.
Iwaizumi continues to try to get the team involved in training but finds himself outnumbered as everyone continues to voice how they want to have fun. As Iwaizumi continues to scold Oikawa, he notices that the captain is wearing an Aloha Hawaiian shirt. Oikawa remarks how it is appropriate attire for the beach along with swimwear. With Iwaizumi refusing to change his mind about training, Oikawa suggests the ace can go swimming as it would be a perfect full body workout.
However, he starts teasing Iwaizumi about not wanting to swim because the ace may actually not know how to swim. Annoyed, Iwaizumi declares that he will prove he is an excellent swimmer by swimming all the way to Tashiro Island although Kindaichi points out that the island is more than thirty kilometers away. As Iwaizumi embarks on his swim, Hanamaki questions if it's a good idea to let Iwaizumi go but Oikawa is confident that his friend will make it to the island without any problems.
Now free of Iwaizumi, Oikawa declares that they should go look for girls. As Kindaichi nervously states that he cannot talk to girls, Oikawa explains that most of the girls already on the beach are most likely looking for a guy to have the typical summer romance with. Oikawa tries to show them an example of this by trying to charm several girls but each one turns him down.
As Oikawa tries to convince everyone that the girls were simply being shy, Hanamaki points out another girl close by that he thinks is cute. Hearing this, Oikawa quickly locates said girl but finds that she is actually part human and part turtle. After aiding the girl, she offers to take Oikawa and the others to the Dragon Palace in appreciation. Hearing that there is a princess there, Oikawa is quick to agree.
At the Dragon Palace, the boys are introduced to Princess Otohime. To their dismay, they find the princess looks very much like Tanaka. The princess instantly becomes enamored with Oikawa and declares that he will become her new husband. Oikawa attempts to avoid the marriage by pointing out that he is too young to marry. Otohime offers a solution in the form of a box that holds a jewel that will turn Oikawa into an old man. When Turtle asks what they should do with the remaining players, Otohime suggests that they be offered to the other aquatic females. While the female fish are delighted at having the boys, the team do not find their advances flattering as they are compared to other sea life.
As Oikawa continues trying to escape Otohime, Iwaizumi suddenly appears with a large submarine. Having lost his strength when swimming to the island, he explains that he had been saved by Mineo Nishinoya. Mineo explains his need for the sub by having heard a group of school students had gone missing and was aiding in the rescue. The players quickly make their way into the sub and depart from the palace just as Otohime begins to fall in love with Mineo.
Now back on the surface, Oikawa has Iwaizumi dispose of the jewel that would have turned him into an old man. Seeing how late it has gotten, Oikawa admits it might be too late to find a cute girl. He offers Mineo the chance to find girls with them only to see that Mineo has already attracted several beautiful women. As he leaves to tell the story to his grandson, Oikawa attempts to head into the ocean to search for the jewel that would age him. However, he quickly loses his strength mere feet into the water.
