Overview[]
When members of Shiratorizawa reveal they wish to have girlfriends, Tendō decides to help them learn how to understand girls and relationships.
Plot[]
As Washijō scolds Goshiki for not making a receive, he scolds the first-year that if he is going to stare at something he should stare at a girl. At hearing Goshiki's reply, Tendō chuckles at the reply and recalls how it's the time of year where relationships start forming. Yamagata mutters how he wants to have a girlfriend and Reon adds how their schoolwork and volleyball training prevents them from searching for a significant other. While Shirabu tries to keep his upperclassmen from crying, Washijō sees how important this seems to be to his players and awkwardly heads to Ikkei for help.
Later at school, Tendō reveals to the others that their coach is looking into helping them find girls to date. Naturally, this surprises many of the players but makes many of them hopeful that they may finally get a girlfriend. Goshiki points out how their coach had actually asked for help from Ikkei which causes the players to think that Karasuno's managers may be their top candidates. Semi and Yamagata become entranced with the thought of not only Kiyoko and Yachi coming to Shiratorizawa but also Misaki and Runa of Johzenji since Coach Saitō is friends with Coach Anabara. Thinking of the four managers, Shirabu notices Semi and Yamagata get nosebleeds. Tendō suggests that Ushijima can stop their nosebleeds by hitting them on the back of their necks. Ushijima agrees to do so but the two beg for their captain not to follow through.
Seeing how his friends are still determined to get a girlfriend, Tendō decides to take it upon himself to help by providing training on romance thanks to his extensive knowledge on the matter that he obtained from reading Jump manga. Although the third-years appear thrilled, Goshiki believes that the training may not go over so well. To Goshiki's correct assumption, the following day, the team is shocked to see Tendō dressed as a girl.
Tendō tries to explain that this is to help them understand girls and relationships better. Even though most of them are put off by this type of training, Ushijima appears to be the only one to think he is a genuine girl. Semi doesn't think he could go through with such training even if he were to wear a stylish racing suit. Tendō continues to try to get them to go through with the training.
He attempts to get things started by pretending to request a specific drink. As Goshiki tries to say that they don't have what Tendō is looking for, Tendō notices that Semi and Yamagata are avoiding looking at him and suspects they're trying to avoid looking at his fake boobs made of volleyballs stuffed under his shirt. He urges them to do so and the two eventually agree. Tendō attempts to get Ushijima to do the same, but the ace player is against this as it is disrespectful.
To the surprise of the others, Tendō announces that he is granting Ushijima ten points since girls would find it awkward and disrespectful of boys looking at them inappropriately. After Shirabu makes a rant of the proper materials used for breast enlargement, Tendō declares that he will fail those who do not earn any points.
Again, he attempts to make a drink request but several of the players declare that they do not have what he wants or try to make suggestions of other drinks. Ushijima states that he also likes the type of tea that Tendō is requesting and is granted more points. Tendō explains his reasoning by saying that girls like guys who like the same drinks they do and do not try to get them to try something else.
Next, Tendō states that he wants to go to the ocean. While many of the boys seem happy about this suggestion, Ushijima suggests Ishinomaki City has an ideal setting. Tendō again grants Ushijima points as he says that, in a situation like this, girls would want something definite and interesting. When he adds that girls also like a guy who is reliable, Semi and Yamagata try to claim that they are reliable. Tendō decides to test this theory by having the two arm wrestle against Ushijima.
Later, Ushijima meets with Mikako Hoshino. After they introduce themselves to one another, Ushijima recalls all of Tendō's teachings but his answers and reasonings to Mikako's questions cause an awkward atmosphere. The entire scene watched by Ikkei and Washijō who determine that Ushijima may not be the best when it comes to relationships.
Back at Shiratorizawa, Tendō asks Ushijima how his meeting went. Ushijima declares that he will teach children to play volleyball. His statement is heard by the others which cause them to think that Ushijima married Mikako, and they are planning to have children.
