"Survive the Drive!!" (Japanese:
Overview[]
While out for a drive, the members of Date Tech soon find themselves encountering spiritual beings.
Plot[]
Proudly announcing that he has received his driver's license, Kamasaki offers to take Futakuchi out for a drive. Futakuchi naturally makes a wise remark about how this is a certain death threat since Kamasaki is a new driver and probably wouldn't be too cautious.
Despite the comment on his driving, Kamasaki explains that Sasaya will be the one driving, instantly making Futakuchi consider accepting the drive knowing that Kamasaki won't be behind the wheel. Kamasaki even invites Aone and Koganegawa to join them. Futakuchi decides that he will accept on the basis that it will be one last pleasant memory of Kamasaki before he becomes a cogwheel of society while working as a corporate slave. When Futakuchi asks where they will be going, Kamasaki excitedly answers that they are heading to a haunted house that was recently built in Tokyo.
With Aone, Futakuchi, and Koganegawa crammed in the back seat, Futakuchi wonders how much time the two third years have in order to take them on a trip to Tokyo and what kind of haunted house they will be going to. Kamasaki explains that the attraction is actually one that visitor's can enjoy from the comfort of their vehicle. He details how they will see ghosts from their car and that their car will even be washed by said ghosts at the end of the ride.
Futakuchi turns his attention to Sasaya and asks how he already has a car when he too just recently received his license. Sasaya admits that the car was given to him by a member of his family since it wasn't being used very much. When Koganegawa states that the car looks well taken care of, Kamasaki proudly states that it's because the two of them plus Moniwa poured all their energy into restoring the car. Hearing this, Futakuchi starts demanding to be let out of the car, stating that he does not feel comfortable being in a vehicle with amateur repairs and a rookie driver. Almost as if to prove Futakuchi's point, Kamasaki warns the second year not to move around too much or else he will press the self-destruct button, something that confuses Futakuchi for being added, surprises Sasaya who was unaware it was there at all, and even putting Aone on-edge.
Since it will take a while to get to Tokyo, Koganegawa suggests they have a nice talk, but Futakuchi suggests they tell ghost stories even though he himself doesn't believe in any of them. Sasaya tells them of a story that happened just the day before. He had been going to the supermarket and nearly hit the accelerator when he was trying to park. Kamasaki tells his own story of how he had been driving and stayed on the left side of the road since he was unfamiliar with the road and ended up on the motorway. Sasaya then comments how they are low on gas and they will need to stop at the next service station to refuel.
Futakuchi tells them of a story he's heard that relates to the road they're currently driving down. He tells that on foggy days like today with little travel, a ghost will use the fog to cause the occupants to get lost and take them to a different location. Unbeknownst to the other four, Futakuchi is completely making the story up and finds amusement in their reactions.
However, Aone soon gets Futakuchi's attention and points to the window where they see the face of a spirit. Kamasaki and Sasaya think they were seeing things but soon see spirits around them as well. Several ghosts have now surrounded the car and begin reaching in through the windows. Koganegawa worries that they will vanish just like in Futakuchi's story, but Kamasaki refuses to let that happen and orders Sasaya to drive faster. Sasaya replies that he doesn't want to be caught speeding after just getting his license.
Koganegawa tells Futakuchi that the ghosts are reaching through the windows and Futakuchi replies that he should try to block them out. He tries to get Aone to help but they find the middle blocker has passed out. Kamasaki states that they have no other choice and reveals a panel of buttons that he says will help them escape, again surprising Sasaya who didn't know of this addition.
Kamasaki presses one of the buttons and causes the car to fly into the air, but the spirits are able to keep up with them. Kamasaki hits another switch and the car suddenly transforms into a fighting robot. Kamasaki uses one of the attacks, but it uses five liters of the remaining gas in the process. Down to their last resort, Kamasaki declares that they will need to use the forbidden self-destruct button.
Wearing a black cape, Suguru welcomes the group to the drive-in haunted house when he sees the state of the car and the occupants inside. When he asks if they had possibly been through another haunted house already, Kamasaki asks if they can just get the car washing service.
Later, Nametsu asks Futakuchi how the drive was. Futakuchi answers that it was the most horrifying thing he has ever experienced.
