Appearance[]
He has dark hair that flows downwards and several strands which stick upwards. He wears a light green volleyball jersey with the number 4 printed on the shirt and wears black kneepads.
Personality[]
Like the other first-years, Mori appears to be timid and unsure of himself.
Background[]
He was one of the three first-years who joined Yukigaoka boys' volleyball club during Hinata's third-year of junior high.[1] Mori is stated to have previously played some volleyball during elementary school.
Plot[]
When he started attending Yukigaoka Junior High, Mori joined the volleyball club under Hinata. The small team eventually joins a tournament but are quickly defeated by Kitagawa Daiichi Junior High. Hinata still showed his appreciate to Mori and the others for letting him have the opportunity to play in a tournament.
After the tournament, Mori and the others later played alongside the girls' volleyball team.

Though he is noted to have played volleyball for a while in grade school, he appears to be a beginner and has poor receiving skills.

Yukigaoka Junior High[]
- Shōyō Hinata: Hinata was Mori's captain on the volleyball team during the latter's first year of junior high. Like the other first-years, Mori relied on Hinata for guidance. When Mori lost hope during the match against Kitagawa Daiichi, Hinata remained optimistic and tried to cheer him up.

- Tatsuya shared his English voice actor with Kenrō Fukatani, Yasushi Kamasaki (season 2–present), Takurō Oiwake (season 1), Tatsuki Washio (season 2), and Yunohama.
- He and Yukinari Mori share the same surname.
- In Haikyuu's first popularity poll, Tatsuya ranked 49th with 96 votes.[2] However, he did not rank in the second popularity poll.
