Tenchi Gaeshi (Japanese: ｢天地ガエシ｣ literal meaning: "Return to Heaven and Earth"), performed by NICO Touches the Walls, is the first ending theme of the first season of the Haikyū!! series. This ending was used from episodes 1-13, until it was replaced by Leo. The lyrics were written by Tatsuya Mitsumura and arranged by the group NICO Touches the Walls and Takashi Asano.[2]

Hinata runs towards the sky and jumps into a spiking position. The video then changes to a scene of Hinata in his Yukigaoka uniform standing on the court, having lost to Kitagawa Daiichi. He’s alone at first but slowly, his teammates in Karasuno appear beside him with a focus on Kageyama, now by his side. The scene cuts back to Hinata running while crying. He reaches towards something, but falters. However, he runs back up with a grin on his face now. He runs towards Karasuno, which is watching the sunset from the hill. As Hinata runs past, everyone rises and follows him. The ending follows a crow in the sky as Karasuno jumps together.
In Episode 10, instead of Hinata running past the team, the focus shifts to Tokyo Station, where Nekoma High is shown briefly.

- In Japan, Tenchi Gaeshi reached 12th place on the Oricon music chart,[4] 13th on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 chart,[5] and 3rd on the Billboard Japan Hot Animation chart.[6]
