"The Greatest Contender: Part 2" (Japanese:
Overview[]
Adlers win the second set and leads the third with high momentum; however, Atsumu is intent on breaking the flow. He continues to challenge Adlers' defense and ultimately unveils a secret hybrid serve to overturn Adlers' lead.
Plot[]
With Kageyama at the helm, the Adlers take the second set 25-21. Kageyama starts off the third set with another powerful serve. Hinata struggles but successfully bumps the ball. Atsumu immediately sets a quick to Meian, but Adlers shuts it down with a commit block. The Adlers are fully aware of Atsumu's penchant for quicks, especially when it's bolstered by the Jackals' strong serve defense, and have plans in place to counter it. Next, Kageyama scores a no-touch service ace by aiming away from Hinata and Sakusa. He continues to aim at the opposite corner on his next serve, but Inunaki receives it cleanly this time. Undaunted by Adlers guarding the middle, Atsumu sets another quick to Meian and successfully scores.
When it's his turn to serve, Atsumu takes six steps to get in position and follows up with a jump serve. Ushijima manages to spike the ball over despite a shaky receive, and the Jackals save the ball. Atsumu refuses to relent on attacking from the middle and forces the Adlers to be vigilant. At the last minute, he tosses to Bokuto on the left to breakthrough Adlers' defense. Atsumu takes four steps for his second serve and goes for a jump floater. The unpredictable spin of the ball catches Hoshiumi off-guard and gives Atsumu another service ace. Atsumu once again takes four steps for his third serve. Just when everyone is expecting another jump floater, Atsumu suddenly switches to a jump serve at the last moment. Romero is unprepared by the switch and messes up his receive.
Previously known as the dual wielder for his mastery of both the jump and floater serves, Atsumu has added a third hybrid serve to his arsenal. With his new serve, Atsumu becomes a tri-wielder and is increasingly difficult to defend against.

Chapter notes[]
Character revelations[]
- Atsumu Miya upgraded his serving arsenal from a dual-wielder into a tri-wielder, capable of a jump float serve, explosive jump serve, and the newly-acquired ultra-hybrid serve, which has a deliberate spin that curves at the end but looks like a regular floater until the ball is already close to the receiver.
Trivia []
- The Miya twins' quote: "Yesterday's gone. So, what're we gonna do today?", is a callback to Volume 32 Chapter 280.
