At the sign of the victory, all of Karasuno rushes onto the court to happily embrace one another. Sugawara tearfully embraces Kageyama and Hinata while beaming with pride. On the other side of the court, the players of Inarizaki are showing a variety of emotions while Atsumu and Osamu come to realize they fooled around too much during the game. Still on the court, Hinata brags to Kageyama about having made the final block only for Kageyama to claim that he as the one who made the block and the two quickly begin bickering. In his excitement, Anabara has called Washijō and the older coach confirms that he witnessed the match.

As the teams shake hands, the announcers comment how Karasuno has now advanced to the third round of the tournament and have become one of the top sixteen teams. After shaking hands with Kageyama, Atsumu calls out to an exhausted Hinata and declares that he will one day set for him after defeating them at the next InterHigh. Osamu mocks his brother for trying to look cool despite leaving the court as part of the losing team. As the Karasuno team line-up to thank their supporters, Daichi becomes emotional at realizing how much more difficult the match would have been for them had the cheering section not been present to support them. On his own side, Atsumu feels Inarizaki supporters should proceed with insulting them only for one of the older members to calls out his expression and state that a well played game is always worthy of praise. During an interview, Coach Kurosu is asked about what could have been the reason for Inarizaki's defeat. Kurosu admits that they could have played more aggressively and takes the blame for the loss. Despite this, he believes that the players have made great strides.

As the Inarizaki players are heading to the sub-arena, the Miya twins attempt to apologize to Kita but Kita prevents them from doing so under the belief that they may feel some sort of relief if they did. While the twins try to deny this being the reason, Kita still asks them to do so only if they truly mean it. While Kita supports their decision to have used their new quick attack at the end of the match, he admits that he does not like it when they attempt something in a game that they did not practice beforehand. Aran adds that Hinata and Kageyama were probably the worst ones to try the quick against. Kita agrees and states that the twins usually leave people behind when they are in top form but for once were the ones who were left behind when compared to Hinata and Kageyama. Kita goes on to say that, despite the exhilaration of the game, it is still frustrating. He admits that he wishes he could say 'Aren't my teammates amazing' for a few more games and causes several of his teammates to become tearful at hearing this. Atsumu and Osamu make a promise to Kita that they will be junior's that he will be able to brag about to his grandchildren.

In the storage area, the starting Karasuno players are showing signs of exhaustion with some looking ready to sleep where they are. Sugawara and Ennoshita are amazed at the sight of Tsukishima being so weary that he doesn't notice he's attempting to put a second jacket on over the one he's already wearing. The two are more astounded to see that Hinata appears to be the least likely to pass out. Tsukishima believes this is due to having witnessed someone else have their special moment and that it's possible that Hinata has become even more hooked on volleyball. In another area, Bokuto scores the winning point for Fukurōdani before noticing that Karasuno beat Inarizaki. Konoha points out how the crowd watching that game was a giveaway of how the match was doing but Bokuto states that he couldn't possibly pay attention to something that was going on outside of his own match. As Bokuto goes on about how he would have liked to have played against the Miya twins, Akaashi notices how Bokuto has been playing in top condition and hasn't let his concentration falter once during their match. As he wishes that the ace could play like this all the time, Akaashi quickly stops himself as he believes he becomes greedy when thinking this way which could lead to bad things happening. As he tries to keep himself calm, his behavior is noticed by Sarukui who is quickly able to see that the setter is overthinking.

While leaving the arena, Mika excitedly goes over the game and states how she may become a Karasuno fan. She questions Suguru on who Karasuno will play next and he answers that Nekoma will be their next opponent. When Mika asks who he thinks would win between the two teams, Suguru answers that he is unsure who would be the winner but that it would not be wise to underestimate Karasuno's enthusiasm. The two walk past Akane as the younger girl overhears others talk about how Karasuno is now faced against the bland Nekoma who is sure to be defeated. Akane makes a silent vow of how they will soon be retracting their negative view of Nekoma.

Later that night, the Karasuno team is gathered in front of the television as the coverage of the tournament takes place. They laugh and revel over their finer and more embarrassing moments. At another hotel, Akaashi follows Bokuto outside while asking if the ace had watched the news coverage of their game. Bokuto answers that he saw it enough times since there wasn't much covering the ace himself. He reveals that he will be continuing to play volleyball after high school but admits that he wishes that he could play with his current team for a while longer. Akaashi is momentarily confused by Bokuto's sudden view of things and points out how they still have several rounds to go before the end of the tournament. Agreeing with Bokuto's desire to win the entire tournament, Akaashi steers the ace back inside in order to prevent him from catching a cold.

Back at the Jaybird Inn, the third years are out on the balcony going over how Kageyama never ceases to amaze them. Sugawara comments how he should gets Kageyama's autograph while he can when Daichi points out that the setter may not even have thought that far ahead. They excitedly go over how Tanaka and Tsukishima played as well as how Hinata was able to surprise them all with his receive of Aran's spike and then sending Tanaka's rebound high into the air that allowed them to collect themselves during the heated moment. Even though they're proud of their teammates, the third years still do not wish to be beaten by them. In the men's washroom, Yamaguchi comments how he's impressed Hinata appears to still have so much energy despite the drawn out match they played. Hinata exclaims his still feels full of adrenaline and wishes to play another game right away. This earns a snide comment from Tsukishima about how creepy his energy is. Hinata attempts to tackle the taller middle blocker but is prevented when Tsukishima sprays him with water from the showerhead.

The Nekoma team is watching the news covering their own match while commenting how Nekoma is rightly labeled as a consistent team. While Yamamoto is annoyed at how the announcers make them sound like the lesser team when compared to Karasuno, Kenma questions if they believe they could have defeated players like the Miya twins or even Ushijima. Yaku is amused at his friends silence at the question until they hear Kenma's own amusement of how each team has come to the tournament to discover who is the stronger one. At the same time, Hinata feels certain that Kenma is not concerned about who will win or lose but is still determined to beat his friend. Outside a restaurant, Saeko encounters Akane. The next morning, Karasuno and Nekoma meet in front of the stadium.

Ukai and Ikkei s4-e25-1.png

In an extra scene, Ukai is shown to have visited his grandfather, Ikkei, before the tournament where he states that the Trashcan Showdown may finally take place. Ikkei reflects how he was when he first began coaching and admits he wondered if any of his previous student's ever felt or thought about certain things the same way he did. He teases his grandson about having been bad at volleyball but claims that he is a natural at being a coach. Ukai points out that the Trashcan Showdown is not only for Ikkei and that his team are the ones who want to defeat Nekoma more than anyone else. With the new generation being different than what Ikkei knows, Ukai advises his grandfather to keep an eye on the match.
