Overview

Kageyama, Hinata, Nishinoya, and Tanaka frantically study for their next month's exams in order to partake in Fukurodani Academy Group's excursion in Tokyo. Moreover, Shimizu recruites the newest manager for Karasuno's volleyball team; a shy first year.

Plot

In preparation of Karasuno's participation in Fukurodani Academy Group's excursion in Tokyo, Sawamura forbids Kageyama, Hinata, Nishinoya and Tanaka from sleeping in class. He also adds that if they have any difficulty, they would be able to ask the third years for their assistance. As Tsukishima and Yamaguchi head home, Hinata and Kageyama catch up to them. The duo requests loudly for Tsukishima to teach them which results to their Coach Ukai reprimanding them due to their noise, as his store was located nearby. The day after, Hinata provides Shimizu with a list of first years who have not joined any clubs, in which the manager displays her appreciation with a smile. Due to his curiosity, Hinata asks Shimuzu if a manager's job was difficult for just a single person. She replies that once the next tournament ends, the other third years along with herself would not be there any longer. She proclaims that she also has to do her part in the preparation. During the afternoon training session, Ukai states that since middle blockers needed to have blocking as one of their weapons, he discloses that Hinata and Tsukishima would become strong enough to even stop Shiratorizawa's ace, Wakatoshi Ushijima. The coach then expresses his concern fpr Kageyama, Hinata, Nishinoya and Tanaka's academics. As Tsukishima teaches Hinata and Kageyama, their captain intervenes a brewing fight between the first two boys. In the other hand, a study session occurs in Tanaka's home with Ennoshita being their tutor. While the boys practice a few days later, Shimizu calls out for her team to pay attention to her; the team peers behind Shimuzu, finding the manager's new recruit hiding behind her back.

  • Nishinoya's worst subject is contemporary literature.
