"The Wall Returns" (Japanese:
Overview[]
Karasuno resumes their team practice after the completion of the training camps. The day after, they face off against the formidable Iron Wall, Date Tech, who quickly prove themselves to be even tougher opponents than before.
Plot[]
After practice, Kageyama explains his previous statement about Hinata's potential to jump higher. Back in the club room, the third-years are talking about the duo and their strong passion for volleyball. Asahi casually mentions that Kageyama has had a troubled expression ever since he returned from the training camp but eventually dismisses this thought.
Meanwhile, the oddball duo is still working on fine-tuning the new jumping technique. Kageyama tells Hinata to put more weight into the ball of his feet, and the latter attempts to do so before Daichi yells at them to go home. The next day, Hinata notices that Tsukishima is spiking at a lower point than he did at the training camp. Although Tsukishima insists he's jumping with his all, Kageyama is silently bothered by this revelation.
Later, the team heads to Date Tech High for their practice match. The practice match begins, and Date Tech completely blocks Asahi even with Hinata acting as a decoy. Coach Ukai easily recognizes Date Tech's strength and believes this match might be even tougher than the Shiratorizawa match for Kageyama.
