Overview
Aoba Johsai claims victory in the match against Date Tech. Karasuno prepares for the rematch against Aoba Johsai.
Plot
Faced with blockers standing six foot tall or higher, Iwaizumi charges forward to attack. Koganegawa, Aone, and Futakuchi all jump to block Iwaizumi in hopes of shutting him down and allowing Date Tech to advance.
Iwaizumi calls out Koganegawa's inexperience as a player before shooting the ball straight between the setters arms and landing the spike that allows Aoba Johsai to win the game. Iwaizumi is heavily praised by his team for the shot while Aone tries to comfort Koganegawa for his mistake. With the match over, Karasuno acknowledged their next match will be against Aoba Johsai in the semifinals.
In the hallway, the Date Tech team reunite with their retired third years. Kamasaki wastes no time in teasing Koganegawa on still being new to volleyball and Futakuchi for realizing how tough it is to be the captain and probably wishes that Moniwa was still on the team. Kamasaki, Moniwa, and Sasaya inspire the team to continue growing together as they know that they have the potential to go farther than ever before in Date Tech's history.
Futakuchi then requests that the third years assist in helping them become stronger, arguing that since the third years had the time to come watch the match then they surely have time to help the team. The third years eagerly accept.
Koganegawa then declares that he will do everything he can to become a great blocker and setter. Promising that he will give his teammates the sets they want while also being able to block any big and strong opponent he is faced with. Aone tells Koganegawa to be cautious of this promise as it is not always the big and strong opponents who will be the most difficult to face.
The Karasuno first years then appear and walk by the Date Tech team. Aone makes a silent promise to Hinata that he will defeat him the next time they play against each other. Later in the sub-arena, Yachi notices how the boys all seem on edge. Kiyoko explains that Karasuno had faced Aoba Johsai before and lost despite giving everything they had and more to win the game. Tadashi then approaches Yachi. Yachi right away notices his nervous appearance and he asks if she has any stomach medication as his nerves are starting to get to him.
Yachi tries to help Tadashi by saying that he should embrace his nerves. She tells Tadashi that he should voice his nervousness as it could help him get them under control. Tadashi follows her advice and tells her about the time he was subbed into the game against Aoba Johsai as a pinch server and his jump float serve had failed right away. He explains his nerves come from thinking that the same thing will happen again in this game.
Yachi becomes overwhelmed with this news and starts to get sick herself. Tadashi becomes fearful of her condition as the rest of his team try help comfort her. Kiyoko simply sees that Tadashi's nervous energy somehow transferred to Yachi.
Hinata spots Kageyama sitting alone and filing his finger nails. He teases the setter of being nervous about the match and is surprised when Kageyama doesn't argue back. When Kageyama admits that Oikawa is an incredible player, Hinata states that he and Kageyama shouldn't be nervous to play against Oikawa and instead be excited.
Kageyama tells Hinata about a time a few years back when he heard Iwaizumi tell Oikawa that it will be the stronger team of six that will be victorious. He hadn't understood what Iwaizumi meant at first but now understands that the team that multiplies each other's strength will be the one to keep advancing.
Daichi calls for the team as it is time to head to their match against Aoba Johsai.
