Hello, Wiki Users and Contributors!
We are so excited to announce that Badges are finally being officially released! It's been about two weeks of hard, "creative" thinking (help), so we are very, very sorry for the delay (this post also took a long time to make because I kept backspacing by accident rip)! We've included a Badge List in this announcement, but they only contain the Standard Badges and not the new Chapter Track Badges that we are about to release that will also be outlined in this Week's (late, very sorry about this!) Newsletter.
Before diving into the "abouts" and niffty-stuff about this new system, however, we must first inform users and contributors that abuse of this system in any kind of way is against this Wiki's Rules and may subject said one to Wiki Consequences. Though abuse of this system, as of the 7th of July 2015 at 5:29 PM (ET) is not directly outlined in our Wiki's Rules and Consequences, the ways one can abuse (e.g. spamming) are stated clearly to be against the rules.
So, without further ado: We hope you will all enjoy this new Beta Reward System on the Wiki, and if there are any problems, questions, comments, or concerns regarding this feature, please leave it below in the comment section.
What are Badges?
Community Central has the official definition for what badges are, but here's a quick run-down of what you, as a Wiki user or contributor, should know:
Badges are essentially icons that you can earn for doing certain things on the Wiki; they appear somewhere on your profile and are each individually worth a certain amount of points. There are 3 main types of Badges you can earn: Bronze (worth 10 points), Silver (worth 50 points), and Gold (worth 100 points). You can compete with others to earn these badges and check your rankings on the Leaderboard.
Badge List:
Here's a list of all the badges currently enabled. Next to each badge picture is information listed in 3 lines, going from the following order: Title, Badge type/point worth, and Badge description which are extracted from the provided Wikia descriptions.
Please note that we did not list the descriptions for the "Special Achievements" track as they are "hidden" achievements that Wiki users and contributors must discover themselves.
Please also note that we did not include the additional Badge track that we have just enabled today in the list as those badge will be announced in the seperate announcement that follows this one.

FAQs:
1) Why do some people already have badges before this announcement?
There are two reasons as to why this may happen:
1) Badges were unofficially enabled a few weeks ago in order for adminstrators to be able to edit the appearance of the badges. Between the time of the unofficial release and the official release, Wiki users and contributors may have unintentionally earned the badges by editing articles or such.
2) Badges were once enabled a year or so ago and disabled; Wiki users from that time may have earned the badges then. Since no user or contributor can lose badges unless they are banned, the badges of those users or contributors have stayed with them even when badges were disbaled. They only simply reappeared when badges were reabled.
2) What are "tracks"?
They essentially just mean "groups" or "categories" of similar badges.
