Tsubakihara Academy (Japanese:
Volleyball Club[]
The boys' volleyball team is considerably strong. All members are solid at receiving and serving, and can pull off high-level plays, such as wipes, aiming serves, and feints.
The current generation has gone to Spring Tournament twice as Kanagawa's second representative.[1] However, during their first nationals, nerves got the better of them and they lost in the first round.
The following year, they were able to return to nationals once more. Unfortunately, although the team improved mentally, they still lost their first match to Karasuno.
Tsubakihara's most notable players are the captain Echigo, ace Teradomari and pinch server Himekawa. Echigo is levelheaded and able to calm his teammates when they are nervous. As the team's ace, Teradomari uses a variety of powerful attacks and can spike despite difficult setups. His 190 cm height also allows him to spike above blocks. Although inexperienced, Himekawa is capable of scoring through ceiling serves and is skilled at defense.
All members wear the same headband with the school's full name on it. The writing on the headband was not present in the anime.
