"Ushijima Turned Into A Baby" (Japanese:
Overview[]
When Goshiki wishes to be able to outdo Ushijima, his wish is granted. However, it is not exactly how he wanted it, and now, Ushijima is paying the consequences.
Plot[]
While watering the flower garden, Goshiki rants to the Flower Fairy about how his upperclassmen appear to treat him like an emotional child who has yet to mature. As he mentions how he would like to be older than Ushijima so that he could finally beat him, the fairy decides to make his wish possible.
At the next practice, Ushijima is revealed to have been turned into an infant. Goshiki questions the Flower Fairy about why she turned Ushijima into a baby and becomes concerned about his reputation when she answers that this is his chance to finally beat Ushijima. Shirabu, while taking pictures of the infant ace, comments how the fairy is trying to say that this is the only way in which Goshiki will be able to outshine Ushijima.
Tendō questions the fairy of when Ushijima will return to his normal self. She answers that he will return to normal bit by bit over time. Relieved that Ushijima will return to normal, the team decides to watch the ace until he's back to normal. With Ushijima seemingly unable to play, the rest of the team decide to have Goshiki fill in as the ace. Goshiki happily accepts the opportunity while Tendō decides to watch Ushijima first.
As he tries playing a game of peek-a-boo with the infant but continues delaying the final reaction, everyone soon notices the young Ushijima smile. However, Tendō realizes that it's the forced smile the ace will fake from time to time. Shirabu decides he should be charged with caring for Ushijima and presents a bottle of milk that he has gone to extreme lengths to make sure that it's perfect for consumption. Seeing that Ushijima is reaching for the bottle, Shirabu happily gives it to him.
To everyone's surprise, Ushijima removes the top and begins adding protein powder. Tendō attempts to take the bottle from Ushijima but finds his finger being crushed under the great strength that Ushijima appears to have kept from his matured body. After getting the bottle back and drinking its contents, Ushijima begins walking to the court in what the others guess is him wanting to join with the practice.
Although everyone wants to keep him away as it could be dangerous, they decide to help him with an easy spike only to watch him perform a powerful jump and spike like normal. As the others begin to celebrate Ushijima playing like normal, Goshiki is crushed as his time as the team ace has come to an end so quickly. Even with the others protecting Ushijima during a rally, Goshiki still thinks that Ushijima shouldn't be playing and is further determined to regain the ace position.
Ushijima suddenly speaks and accepts Goshiki's challenge to beat him. Surprised, the others notice that his head has returned to normal although he still has an infant body. Seeing the others looking at him with concerned looks over his current state and he soon falls over from being unbalanced, Ushijima promises that he will be able to continue spiking practice like normal and hit every set that is given to him.
Goshiki figures out that the Flower Fairy's warning of Ushijima returning to normal a little at a time now seems like his body parts will return to normal one at a time. As Ushijima continues to try to get Shirabu to set to him, his arms and legs suddenly start returning to normal. With most of his body returned to normal, Ushijima states that now he and Goshiki are on an even level and age to compete against one another.
While Goshiki begins to accept the challenge, Tendō suddenly realizes that Ushijima's body will return to normal next. He and Shirabu begin to panic when they realize that this means the baby clothing he is wearing will be ripped to pieces when that happens and hurry to stop the challenge before it's too late.
A while later, Washijō enters the gym with baby items after having heard that there was a baby present. As Tendō comments how the coach is acting like a grandparent searching for their grandchild, Ushijima appears in the background and is now back to his normal self.
