"Vigilance" (Japanese:
Overview[]
With Karasuno starting to dominate the second set, Shiratorizawa setter Shirabu decides to take matters into his own hands.
Plot[]
Although Karasuno was able to counter and tie the score, Shizuyasu Yokoyama remarks how the team is wasting two sets. Though Nishinoya is praised for the receive, the libero in turn credits his accomplishment to the blockers forcing the path of the ball.
Saeko sees that Karasuno's last play was to force Ushijima to hit how they wanted. Sugawara acknowledges that the total defense will allow Karasuno the chance to fight back.
Asahi serves. Reon and Goshiki call the ball as landing out but it actually is called to have narrowly landed in. On his second serve, Goshiki makes the receive. When Shirabu sets to Reon instead of Ushijima, Shiratorizawa students guess that the team is trying to keep Ushijima's stamina in mind. Tsukishima leads the block but Reon gets a feint shot over them. Though Daichi is able to save it, Tendō is able to do a direct spike.
Ushijima moves to the back row and serves. As Daichi receives and Shiratorizawa gets the ball, Shirabu is wary of Tsukishima. With Karasuno focusing on Ushijima, Tendō, and Reon, they don't notice until it's too late that Shirabu is attempting a setter dump. Tsukishima manages to get a hand on the ball but no one is able to save it.
With Shiratorizawa at set point, Akiteru notices something about his brother.
