"Vs. the Great King" (Japanese:
Overview[]
Oikawa joins the game as a pinch server and gains some points easily. However, Kageyama wins the match for Karasuno High with a quick.
Plot[]
Hinata worries over Oikawa, calling him the master of the power serve, but Kageyama reassures him to focus on the game. The match restarts and Karasuno is doing very well. They are soon at match point (24-21) but Oikawa is suddenly switched in for Kunimi as a pinch server. Oikawa points to Tsukishima before he serves, stating that no matter how strong Karasuno's offensive power is, if their attacks don't connect, there is no meaning to it. Oikawa then serves strongly, aiming towards Tsukishima specifically, but the latter can't receive it properly and it hits the side. Oikawa states that he can tell that Tsukishima and Hinata are bad at receiving.
On the side, Sugawara remarks nervously that the serve is stronger than Kageyama's level of power, and Oikawa can even control the ball's path.
Hinata stares at Tsukishima with worry and decides to bring the attention to himself, using Tanaka's words about teamwork to encourage Tsukishima to agree with him. Daichi spreads out his space, expanding his defensive "sphere." However, Oikawa can still aim at an open Tsukishima, but the latter manages to receive the ball properly this time; though he ends up sending it back to the other side as a free ball. It is sent to Kindaichi who tries to hit it over, but Hinata gets to his front using his quick reflexes and speed. Hinata pulls off a one-touch, and Kageyama sets it to him for one final quick strike that flies past a shocked Oikawa. The game ends with Karasuno's win (25-23).
