"Why Is It That Tanaka-senpai Is So Cool, but Still Isn’t Popular with Girls?" (Japanese:
Overview[]
The Karasuno team debates why despite Tanaka's cool personality hasn't made him more popular with the girls.
Plot[]
Hinata starts a team debate on why Tanaka is not popular among girls even though he is so cool. Tanaka is flattered and casually asks Hinata to stop. Sugawara takes it seriously and attempts to halt the conversation, much to Tanaka's protest. The third-years then begin listing all of Tanaka's positive traits, which include being upbeat, good at sports, patient toward his juniors, and being stylish.
Yamaguchi meekly adds it's because Tanaka looks scary that he's not more popular and earns a harsh glare from the latter. Kinoshita and Narita think Tanaka looks like he's always thinking of lewd things while Tsukishima says Tanaka seems like someone who always smells like sweat. Tanaka grows irritated by these claims until Kageyama calmly says that people simply aren't aware of how cool Tanaka is. The team is in awe of Kageyama saying something sensible and concludes that Tanaka might be popular 10 years later.
Later, Saeko asks Ennoshita and Nishinoya if something happened since Tanaka has been unusually attentive in his studies recently. Ennoshita reveals Tanaka is aiming to make a time machine.

- This chapter was adapted into a Drama CD audio drama that was included with the Haikyū!! season two Vol.3 DVD / Blu-ray[1].
- In the Drama CD version, Tanaka asks Kiyoko about her opinion on the issue. She is the one who suggested he might be popular in ten years.
